 Oracle’s Security Operations organization has the mission to secure OCI and Oracle’s infrastructure at scale. You must relish the challenge of assessing large, complex infrastructure, hunting advanced threat actors, partnering across defensive and offensive security teams, and enabling security operators to secure infrastructure at scale through automation. Creativity, structure, and experience leading significant investigations is highly valued; being able to automate manual security operations functions and scaling fused threat centers to proactively hunt and re-actively investigate security threats. is essential in this role.

 

Work You’ll Do

As a member of our team, you will be responsible for transforming security operations at OCI. Automating, purple teaming, and broadly reshaping the maturity and dexterity of our Security Operations program. Our vision is to build a world class Fusion and Operations Center capable or broadly and proactively protecting significant business and operational assets across the cloud and beyond. We are building a team of elite investigators focused on the full lifecycle of DFIRand the blending of Red and Blue team operations fused with Intelligence. Responsibilities include:

• Lead and deliver rapid investigations of complex, complicated, ambiguous, threat actor activity of cloud services, applications and on-premise infrastructure. • Develop and lead Purple Team exercises focused on significantly up-leveling security controls and preparedness across cloud infrastructure, applications, and services. • Create automation and orchestration capabilities to enable operations and engineering teams to rapidly detect, contain, and remediate security issues. Collaborate with engineering teams to help them triage and fix security issues • Build and scale a threat hunting capability to proactively hunt for security threats across OCI infrastructure and assets. • Lead the creation of playbooks and automation to support active and future investigations. • Coach and enable senior and junior team members to innovate, challenge status quo, and transform our Security Operations capability. • Leverage known and emerging TTPs (Tactics, Techniques & Procedures) of threat actors to emulate and exercise malicious activity to support the defense of the OCI environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience working in a large cloud or Fortune 50 organization with significant cloud technology infrastructure, applications, and services • Proficiency with one or more programming/scripting languages, preferably Go, Java, Python or C/C++ • Ability to perform deep security and/or forensics investigations of highly complex environments and threat actors • Experience navigating and working with extremely complex infrastructures, particularly hybrid cloud and on-premise is highly desirable • Experience using common security assessment tools and techniques in one or more the following categories: o Proficiency in performing mobile application assessment (iOS / Android) o Reverse Engineering (e.g., IDA Pro/Ghidra/Radare2) and debugging code-base with the objective to find security gaps/vulnerabilities o Proficiency in Fuzzing (e.g., Jazzer/AFL/Peach) techniques to inject invalid, malformed, or unexpected inputs into a system to reveal software defects and vulnerabilities. o Proficiency in advanced Mobile, API, Infrastructure, Web Application penetration testing to find vulnerabilities such as insecure Java/PHP/PHAR deserialization, XXE, HTTP desynchronization, cryptography weaknesses (exploiting ECB Shuffling, CBC Bit Flipping etc.), Mass assignments, template injections, HTTP/2 and HTTP/3 protocol issues etc. • Knowledge of common attack patterns, trees, TTP’s, and the Mitre Att&ck/Kill Chain for Incident Response including: o Privilege Escalation o Lateral Movement o Anti-Forensics Techniques o Ability to threat model systems/applications/platforms to assess design and find flaws that can be exploited • Deep knowledge of leveraging playbooks and automation to simplify complex investigations and structure highly complex, ambiguous, and unclear signals into cogent, clear, and concise investigative conclusions Disclaimer:

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $120,100 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
