Position Summary:
BOOST is assisting our confidential client in hiring a strategic IT leader to oversee a cutting-edge network that supports both internal operations and client needs. Reporting directly into the top company executive, the Director – Network Engineering, IT, & Security is responsible for leading and managing the company’s network infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and compliance to ensure high levels of customer support. This role leads a highly skilled team of network engineers and database professionals.
This is a mostly remote role with regular on-site work at the client’s suburban DC location. This client values and rewards self-starters who operate independently, solve problems effectively, are hands-on as needed, and represent well in front of clients.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Network Infrastructure & Security Leadership:
-
Oversee the architecture, deployment, and maintenance of enterprise networks (UNIX, Linux, Windows) and data operations, ensuring robust performance and security.

Ensure the protection of physical assets, personnel, and sensitive information within the company’s facility through security protocols, access controls, and emergency response procedures.

Strategic Alignment: Partner with executive leadership to ensure network operations and security strategies align with business objectives.

Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of network engineers, security analysts, and support staff, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.

Client & Business Development: Engage with clients to understand needs, provide expert guidance, and contribute to business development efforts, demonstrating expertise in network, database, and information security systems.

Security & Compliance Management:
-
Ensure adherence to NIST, FISMA, PCI, and other federal security standards, preparing for and responding to audits.

Maintain Authorization to Operate (ATO) status and work with security teams to ensure continuous compliance.

Implement security controls in line with CISSP best practices to mitigate risks and protect sensitive data.

Incident Response & Disaster Recovery: Develop and execute robust incident response and disaster recovery programs.

Project & Vendor Management:

Oversee project planning, execution, and delivery within set timelines and budgets.

Manage relationships with third-party vendors, service providers, and government agencies.

Oversee contracts, SLAs, and procurement related to network infrastructure.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation: Drive advancements in network security, efficiency, and performance optimization through innovative solutions.
Qualifications:
Required:
-
U.S. citizenship is required; applicants must be eligible for a security clearance (active clearance is a plus).

Ability to obtain and maintain clearance; candidates will undergo a government security investigation.

Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.

12+ years of experience in network administration, with a strong focus on information security. (A Master’s degree may substitute for 2 years of experience.)

Proven leadership experience in managing technical teams within a fast-paced IT environment.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders across all levels.

Ability to apply structured methodologies to problem-solving, decision-making, and risk mitigation.

Demonstrated ability to drive high-performance team culture and deliver high-quality results.
Preferred:

Background in CMMC and familiarity with FedRAMP regulations.

Experience working in government or other highly regulated industries.
Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: $160,000 - $180,000, with significant performance-based bonus potential.
