Technology Risk forms part of our broader Advisory practice. Our clients seek independent advice and assurance on diverse issues including design and operation of their internal controls, security of their business critical systems, delivery of major IT enabled programmes, their relationships with outsourced services providers, and their management, stewardship and ability to exploit business critical data.

As a Director in Technology Risk Services, you will play a critical role in leading our technology risk practice. You will be responsible for managing client relationships, delivering high-quality services, and driving the growth of our technology risk offerings. You will work closely with clients to assess their technology risk landscape, develop risk management strategies, and implement solutions that enhance their IT governance and compliance.

 

Your key responsibilities

 

  • Lead and manage technology risk engagements, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to clients.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their technology risk needs and providing strategic guidance.
  • Oversee the assessment of clients' technology risk environments, including IT governance, cybersecurity, data privacy, and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement technology risk management frameworks and solutions.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes to provide informed advice to clients.
  • Mentor and develop junior staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Contribute to the development of thought leadership materials and participate in industry events and conferences.
  • Drive business development efforts, identifying new opportunities and expanding the Technology Risk Services practice.
  • Maintaining both externally and internally recognised technical expertise in a number of the following areas:
    • IT Risk Management
    • IT Controls Testing or IT Audit
    • Regulatory Resilience Requirements e.g. DORA, Operational Resilience
    • Outsourced Services Management
  • Ensuring that risk management procedures and quality standards are observed throughout assignment delivery
  • Fostering and developing strong networks (local, area, global) with key service line champions in the global firm

To qualify for the role you must have

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology/Systems, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in technology risk management, IT audit, cybersecurity, or related fields.
  • Proven track record of managing complex engagements and delivering results for clients.
  • Strong understanding of technology risk frameworks, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISA, CISSP, CISM, or equivalent are highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to mentor and develop team members.

 

Ideally, you’ll also have

 

  • Financial services industry experience, i.e. retail banking, insurance, funds, capital markets, payment processors etc.
  • Knowledge and experience of emerging technology, FinTech, Cloud services and Cybersecurity
  • Knowledge of relevant regulation and guidelines impacting the financial services industry
  • Knowledge of relevant frameworks and standards (e.g., COBIT, ITIL, ISO 27001x, SOC 1/2/3, NIST, COSO)
  • ISACA qualifications
  • Big 4 management experience and training
