Job Description

Purpose of the role

To monitor the performance of operational controls, implement and manage security controls and consider lessons learnt in order to protect the bank from potential cyber-attacks and respond to threats. 

Accountabilities

  • Management of security monitoring systems, including intrusive prevention and detection systems, to alert, detect and block potential cyber security incidents, and provide a prompt response to restore normal operations with minimised system damage.
  • Identification of emerging cyber security threats, attack techniques and technologies to detect/prevent incidents, and collaborate with networks and conferences to gain industry knowledge and expertise.
  • Management and analysis of security information and event management systems to collect, correlate and analyse security logs, events and alerts/potential threats.
  • Triage of data loss prevention alerts to identify and prevent sensitive data for being exfiltrated from the banks network.
  • Management of cyber security incidents including remediation & driving to closure.

Join Barclays as a Head of Specialist Intel Collection and take charge of managing the Specialist Intelligence Collection team within Threat Intelligence. This team is responsible for collection and processing of intelligence in support of analysis, including Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT), Deep & Dark Web monitoring, and technical intelligence gathering. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for setting our collection strategy, managing the collections process, and managing the risk associated with intelligence collection activity.

 

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • Experience of OSINT collection and processing.
  • Understanding of the Intelligence Cycle and the role of Intelligence Collections.
  • Ability to maintain large data sets with a high degree of accuracy and identify patterns and trends within.

Additional highly valued skills:

  • Experience working in one or more of our threat missions - Cybersecurity, Insider Threat, Fraud, Geopolitics, Physical Security, Supply-Chain Threats, and/or Emerging Technologies.
  • Stakeholder Management skills.
  • Experience of driving organisational change.
