Threat and Vulnerability Analyst

We are looking for a Threat and Vulnerability Intelligence Analyst to work in support of the Cyber Resilience and Operations team in FNZ. This is an exciting opportunity to learn about threat intelligence as a discipline, work in an expanding team, and gain exposure to maturing cybersecurity services.  

The successful candidate will report into the Global Threat Intelligence Manager and provide support in the tracking of cyber threats. You will learn more about financial-services teams’ operations in a close-knit and friendly environment, as well as gaining hands-on experience of generating intelligence products in an enterprise environment  

This is an exciting chance for an individual with previous cybersecurity experience who is looking to develop a career in the threat intelligence space or an existing junior analyst who is keen to learn more about creating strategic and operational deliverables in the wealth management industry. 

Role Responsibilities:

• Maintain a current understanding of the cyber threat landscape with a focus on the wealth management sector 
• Weekly maintenance of the FNZ threat monitoring log, used to track cyber threats of relevance to the company 
• Threat actor scoring to understand the relevance of different groups to FNZ in accordance with established criteria 
• Triage tickets generated by the company's ingestion of multiple intelligence sources 
• Indicator of compromise analysis to reduce the likelihood of false positives 
• Update the FNZ threat model using the MITRE ATT&CK framework to track detection coverage 
• Update the FNZ threat scenario library, including related TTPs and IOCs 
• Work closely with peer cybersecurity teams to improve the overall security posture, respond to security incidents in a timely manner, and enhance detections 
• Collaborate with threat intelligence specialists on identifying and solving gaps in current security monitoring coverage
• Liaise with the threat hunting function to mature the company’s detection capabilities 
• Support other areas of Cyber Resilience as required

Experience required:

• Desire to learn more about threat intelligence and develop further understanding of strategic, operational, and tactical intelligence 
• Understanding of the current cyber threat landscape for firms operating in the financial services and wealth management sector 
• Knowledge of the MITRE ATT&CK framework and its uses in cyber defence 
• Evidence of building strong relationships with key internal stakeholders 
• Past experience of working with security operations, threat intelligence, cybersecurity engineering, or penetration testing teams 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
• High level of integrity and trustworthiness
