What is the role?
The Chief Information Officer (CIO) Command is a trusted frontline partner that enables policing through problem solving and technical expertise and excellence. The CIO Command provides corporate application, ICT end to end solutions, advice, cyber security and infrastructure that underpin AFP activities. The CIO Command aims to be a highly collaborative, innovative, reliable and trusted enabler for all Commands across the AFP. The products and services delivered are user focused, secure and fit for purpose, while supported by a highly skilled, agile and resilient workforce.
As a team member within the Cyber Security and Risk branch, you will be required to contribute to the achievement of outcomes in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments. It is expected that the successful applicant will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below.
What will you do?
- Produce cyber security artefacts for approval
- Recognise problems by identifying abnormalities and reporting potential security issues and breaches
- Maintain quality service by following organisational standards
- Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing publications and undertaking self-paced learning
- Contribute to team outcomes by accomplishing set tasks and working collaboratively with other team members
- Cyber Security administration tasks
- Promoting a positive security culture where 'Cyber Security is everyone's responsibility'
Essential Requirements
- You must be an Australian Citizen at the time of application
- A Negative Vetting 1 security clearance or the ability to obtain one
- Demonstrated ability to manage time and work-related priorities
- Cyber Security experience
- Demonstrated commitment to skills-development using cyber security training platforms (such as Hack the Box, Try Hack Me)
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
Desirable Requirements
- Candidates who have completed the Genius Armory Program

Employment Suitability

- Satisfactorily undertake a security clearance to the level specified for the position.
