Mobile Cybersecurity Research Scientist

Responsibilities

We are looking for candidates with a background in mobile security and software engineering for a full-time position at Peraton Labs. Candidates will work in concert with the team to research, conceive, and develop solutions through innovative approaches to solving problems.

 

The Mobile Security Research Scientist will be expected to:

• Work under the direction of project managers to design, develop and test software modules in support of emerging cyber, data mining, or big data analytics efforts.
• Reverse engineer applications, operating systems, and firmware; primarily in ARM and x86 architectures.
• Reverse engineer and extract data from web APIs using packet captures and software reverse engineering.
• Expand, enrich, and analyze datasets through collaboration, incorporating feedback from linguists.
• Participate in progress briefings and technical exchange meetings; present technical developments to industry stakeholders.

Qualifications

Skills and Experience You Should Possess:

• At least 1 year with BS/BA, 0 years with MS/MA, 0 years with PhD
• Ability to solve problems designing and implementing complex systems independently, as well as lead specific technical development efforts.
• Demonstrated software development ability in C.
• Familiarity with assembly languages, machine code, and computer organization.
• Familiarity with DBMS including PostgreSQL.
• Experience with source control tools including Git.
• US Citizen
• Active Secret Clearance with ability to qualify for a Top Secret/SCI security clearance.

Target Salary Range

$80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
