As a Principal Engineer - Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC), you will support the GRC activities across the Global Products and Technology (GP&T) team, ensuring that Tech Risks & Controls are identified, prioritized, effectively managed, and monitored. 

Additionally, this role should work within the GP&T team to ensure Tech teams follow the required internal and external compliance standards and deliver a reduction in the overall risk profile for our customers. With the primary responsibility of this position being GP&T, this role requires high competency and experience in GxP requirements and strong foundation in IT general controls (ITGC).

In this role you will…

  • Support GP&T to fulfil the requirements of the Digital and Tech Management System (DTMS) and mitigate IT and compliance (GxP, Sarbanes-Oxley, Privacy) risks. Applies critical thinking to right size the governance approach based on risk.

  • Participate in the development, deployment and maintenance of multiple Tech products.

  • Facilitate the delivery of compliant solutions providing business value on time and on budget.

  • Contribute to; and reviews and approves system deliverables to ensure GP&T activities align with regulatory requirements and liaise with business quality groups to contribute to the overall GxP validation status of the business facing application systems or services.

  • Facilitate the identification, recording and mitigation of Tech owned risks and non-conformances. Approves non-conformances and exceptions within their area of responsibility.

  • Support Tech in internal and external audits (FDA, EMEA, etc.) including liaising with Subject Matter Experts to respond to audit queries.

  • Contribute to evolving the DTMS by reporting pain points and suggesting areas for improvement.

Why you?

Basic qualifications:

  • Overall experience of 10 to 12.5 years and 8+ years’ experience in computer Compliance (GxP), IT Risk Management, in a pharmaceutical environment.

  • Experience of analyzing situations to identify issues and facilitate the generation of solutions.

  • Experience of control testing, verification, and reporting

  • Proven experience working and influencing across functions and geographic regions.  

  • Strong and clear communication skills – verbal and written.

  • Bachelor’s degree in technology, Quality or Risk Management related subject.

  • Good understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Governance/Risks, Cloud computing, Cybersecurity.

  • Experience with Computer system validation / Computer system Assurance (GxP).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in SOX and Data Privacy Regulations is an advantage.

  • Experience in SAP ERP, S/4Hana, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud is an advantage.

  • Experience in AI Governance and AI risk management.

  • Certifications in CRISC, CISA, CISM, CISSP or comparable.
