The Lead Consultant will successfully deliver projects for clients as a member of project teams within a market program. This includes supporting the project manager by leading small teams initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and closing projects.  This position also includes maintaining relationships with clients and key decision-makers to help identify follow-on business opportunities and maintain customer intelligence.

NOTE: Due to the nature of this role and the clients supported, this position requires at least 50% travel, including both domestic and international travel.

What You Will Do:

The Lead manages small teams to work on project tasks under the supervision of a project manager to ensure quality services are delivered on schedule and within the available budget to meet customer requirements. 

  • Assist the project manager with defining and sequencing project tasks, estimating task duration, and developing a project schedule as part of developing a project management plan.
  • Review project management plans to understand the scope, schedule, and assigned work authorization.
  • Planning and scheduling client meetings
  • Lead client and tasks-team meetings
  • Lead small task teams with the execution of project tasks.
  • Assist with research and data analysis, including but not limited to assisting with conducting customer or stakeholder analyses.
  • Prepare written documents, reports, and presentations.
  • Develop conclusions and recommendations, write reports, and assist with client presentations.
  • Give oral presentations to clients.
  • Tracking and reporting hours spent executing projects.
  • Work with individuals at all levels, provide input to reports and other deliverables, execute multiple assignments, meet agreed deadlines, and adjust to changing client demands.
  • Performing quality assurance on project deliverables
  • Develop relationships with existing customers to facilitate the development of new business. 
  • Identify new business opportunities with existing customers for current and/or additional services.

What You Will Need:

Education and Experience

  • 4-6 years of professional experience is the minimum required.
  • Must have a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Due to federal regulations, this position requires U.S. citizenship. Applicants must be able to provide proof of citizenship upon request.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience with basic computer networking (LAN, WAN, Telecommunications) is required. Industrial Control System (ICS) networking experience is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of applicable regulations and cybersecurity standards such as ISA/IEC 62443, NIST 800-82, NIST 800-53, API 11 64, NERC CIP, etc. is preferred.
  • Experience working in high-hazard operating environments covered by any of the 16 Critical Infrastructure Sectors is preferred. 
  • Professional coursework or certifications related to cybersecurity or engineering is preferred, such as a GICSP, CISSP, OSCP, SANS ICS410, ICS418, ICS456, ICS515, etc.
  • Strong written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Perform research and provide analysis on research performed.
  • Gather and analyze data effectively.
  • Apply critical thinking to a wide variety of problems.
  • Comprehend and analyze complex problems.
  • Work under tight deadlines
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint,
  • Ability to obtain a working knowledge of the ABS Health, safety, quality, and environmental management systems.

Reporting Relationships:

Could report to the Project Manager or Program Manager or a more senior level Consultant. 

Salary: $75,000-85,000
