JOB SUMMARY

The IT Security Engineer is responsible for collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and implement effective security controls and protocols and ensuring  compliance with industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and internal security policies and standards. Additionally, your task include overseeing vulnerability identification, conducting frequent security reviews and audits, and working closely with the team to assess all systems and software for security risks, ensure timely addressing of identified vulnerabilities, and regularly update systems and software with the latest patches to maintain their security. There is also the expectation to support day to day security operations


JOB DUTIES

  • Comply with applicable legal requirements, standards, policies, and procedures
  • Monitor security logs and alerts to detect and respond to security incidents and events
  • Work with IT and Security teams to ensure security requirements are integrated into project plans and operations
  • Participate in security incident response and investigations as needed
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop and enforce security policies, standards, and best practices
  • Demonstrate expert level problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Maintain necessary skills and knowledge to coordinate work flow
  • Promptly address and resolve incoming incidents and requests within agreed upon time frames
  • Stay up to date with the latest security threats and trends
  • Manage security-related projects from inception to completion
  • Monitor deliverables and ensure timely completion of projects/work
  • Lead, supervise and complete special projects
  • Attend relevant conferences, seminars, and workshops to stay current with industry best practices and advancements
  • Provide peer mentoring, training to coworkers in clear non-technical language Provide technical guidance and direction to systems engineers, administrators, and support staff to ensure the security of systems and data
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for system security and data protection
  • Plan and implement security systems automation as required for better efficiency
  • Participate in security assessments and audits of third-party vendors to ensure compliance with security standards and regulations
  • Effective written and verbal communication
  • Demonstrate dependability
  • Prioritize and multitask effectively
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Bilingual preferred in various locations
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 3 years IT Systems Engineering or Systems Administration with experience in a Microsoft environment
  • Minimum 2 years experience with cybersecurity systems and technology controls
  • Associate Degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated expert level knowledge in 3 or more of the following: Exchange Online, SQL Server, Azure, system/network monitoring, Office 365 including SharePoint, Endpoint protection and antivirus solutions
  • Be able to successfully pass a background screening
  • Employees must provide their own reliable internet if working a remote/hybrid position

The incumbent typically works in an office environment and uses a computer, telephone and other office equipment as needed to perform duties. The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of an office. Incumbent may encounter frequent interruptions throughout the workday. The employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear; frequently required to use repetitive hand motion, handle or feel, and to stand, walk, reach, bend or lift up to 20 pounds.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
