The opportunity
As an IAM Competency Leader, you will be responsible for driving the strategic direction, technical excellence, and business growth of the Identity and Access Management (IAM) practice. You will leverage your broad expertise in IAM, IGA, and PAM to assess and audit architectural designs, develop best-in-class solutions, and ensure alignment with industry standards and client requirements. Your role will extend beyond technical leadership to include business development, client engagement, and team growth, ensuring our IAM practice remains at the forefront of the industry.
Skills and attributes for success
- 15+ years of experience in Identity and Access Management, with expertise spanning IAM, IGA, and PAM domains
- Strong knowledge of identity security principles, authentication, authorization, governance, and privileged access management
- Experience assessing, auditing, and designing IAM architectures and frameworks for enterprise clients
- Proven ability to participate in RFP processes, define IAM solutions, and contribute to business strategy
- Experience in client-facing roles, providing advisory services, leading discussions, and offering tailored IAM solutions to solve complex security challenges
- Strong leadership skills with experience in managing , mentoring, and developing IAM teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and growth
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and delivering high-value solutions
- Ability to analyze current and predicted client needs to drive service offerings and team capabilities
- Familiarity with security and regulatory standards, including DORA, NIST, ISO 27001, and Zero Trust principles
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills
- Ability to work in a continuously changing environment, proactive with a can-do attitude, looking for solutions and opportunities
- Good planning and organizing skills, with the ability to see the big picture while also focusing on details
Your key responsibilities
- Leading the IAM practice by defining its strategy, technical direction, and market positioning
- Assessing and auditing IAM, IGA, and PAM solutions to ensure security, compliance, and efficiency
- Designing IAM architectures, frameworks, and roadmaps to meet client and regulatory requirements
- Supporting business development efforts, including participation in RFPs, client proposals, and sales strategies
- Engaging with clients to understand their IAM challenges, proactively addressing their needs, and ensuring long-term partnerships
- Providing strategic guidance and direct involvement in client engagements, ensuring the successful delivery of IAM projects
- Leading, mentoring, and developing the IAM team, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and professional growth
- Developing a talent strategy, including hiring, team structuring, and skill development to meet evolving client needs
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to align IAM initiatives with business objectives
- Staying up to date with emerging IAM trends, tools, and regulations to drive continuous improvement
- Working on IAM projects
To qualify for the role, you must have
- Seniority in unit leadership and people/team management
- Understanding of cybersecurity matters
- Business acumen
- Holistic understanding of the security domain
- Business development approach
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Strong time management skills
- Excellent command of written and spoken English; other languages like German or French can be beneficial
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Certifications in IAM-related fields (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CIAM, TOGAF, Zero Trust Architect Certification)
- Hands-on experience with IAM, IGA, and PAM solutions such as SailPoint, Saviynt, CyberArk, Okta, Microsoft Entra ID, and Ping Identity
- Experience leading IAM teams in consulting or enterprise environments
- Strong understanding of IAM in cloud and hybrid environments
- Agile, flexible mindset
- Experience working at consulting companies
