We’re actively seeking a talented Vulnerability Management Capability Specialist to join our Cyber Operations Team in Newport Beach, CA.
- This role is hybrid. We believe in empowering our employees to get work done both in and out of the office.
As a Vulnerability Management Capability Specialist, you’ll move Pacific Life, and your career, forward by contributing to our vulnerability management service by assisting with operational tasks such as data analysis, ticket monitoring, false positive suppression, and internal customer support. You will fill an existing role that sits on a team of nine people in the Enterprise Functions division. Your colleagues will include analysts, engineers, and fellow cybersecurity professionals.
How you’ll help move us forward:
- Execute, monitor, control, and successfully close vulnerability management projects and tasks.
- Respond to detected vulnerabilities, including investigation, collaboration with other teams, tracking remediation progress, and assisting in weekly vulnerability reviews.
- Follow and implement processes and procedures to support and mature the vulnerability management service.
- Establish trust and business relationships with customers and other relevant stakeholders.
The experience you bring:
- 0-2 years of experience within information security that includes experience within vulnerability management.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to utilize tools and analytical skills to plan and execute technical changes.
What makes you stand out:
- Relevant certifications such as Security+, PenTest+, CEH, GWAPT, GPEN or equivalent experience and skills.
- Online community profiles for cybersecurity training programs such as HacktheBox or TryHackMe.
- Experience with the vulnerability management tools such as vulnerability assessment, attack-surface monitoring and ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Jira, etc.)

Base Pay Range:
The base pay range noted represents the company’s good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.
