Product Security Engineer Intern (Summer 2025)

Sigma’s early career program is the launchpad for the next generation of engineers and innovators. As an Intern at Sigma, you’ll work on various Security domains and learn efficient Security engineering for large scalable systems/environments. Our interns connect directly with our engineers, product leaders, and designers across the organization everyday. Internship Program Qualifications:

• Current student: 
• You must be currently enrolled in a university undergraduate or graduate degree program in the U.S with a graduation date of December 2025 or later
• Able to intern from June 2025 through early September 2025 (12 weeks)

• Authorization: 
• You must be legally authorized to work in the US during the Summer 2025 program
• Visa sponsorship is not available for our internship positions, but we welcome applicants on a student visa (with authorization to work in the U.S.) to apply

• Location: 
• Located within the San Francisco Bay Area or willing to relocate during the internship. Relocation assistance will be provided for students who will need to relocate for the Summer.
• Able to work 40 hours per week (full-time) in a hybrid work model with a minimum of 4 days in office for in person collaboration with our team

About the role:

Our Product Security internship is designed to provide exposure to a variety of security tasks that one should expect as a junior or entry-level Product Security Engineer. This Product Security Engineer internship will provide you the opportunity to solve Sigma’s critical product security and data protection related challenges.

During your internship your responsibilities will include:

• Assist in threat hunting and threat analysis with process documentation and automation. Aid in code reviews, focused on overall security bug reduction across the Sigma product.
• Research, test and discover potential security issues in Sigma products and features.
• Take a data driven approach to review and verify reported vulnerabilities, perform root cause analysis, and partner with developers to drive corrections
• Track metrics and create thorough documentation related to areas of ownership
• Collaborate with the Security & Engineering teams by scoping and delivering a capstone project in a specific research area.

What we’re looking for:

• Applicants must be pursuing at least a Bachelor’s or a Master’s degree (Masters preffered) in Computer Science or a related field with focus on Security.
• Demonstrated development experience in one or more of the following languages: Python, Rust, GO,Typescript, JavaScript, Java. 
• Passionate about weaving security to without compromising developer productivity and velocity
• Knowledge of common product security vulnerabilities and solutions.
• Excited about exploring new security solutions and are willing to try new attack methodologies
