Overview /Objective: 

The NFL’s Global Security Operations Center’s (GSOC) provides critical intelligence, situational awareness, and risk assessments to key stakeholders to help them understand potential impacts to the League’s operations, employees, assets and reputation. The Director of the Global Security Operations Center will provide senior-level expertise and leadership to manage all aspects of the NFL’s efforts to monitor threats, providing real-time awareness, rapid response, and critical analysis. These efforts support decision-making to defend the NFL brand, its operating components, and its partners. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker and leader with operational experience in threat intelligence, crisis management, and operational security.  

Responsibilities: 

  • Manage and motivate a team of full-time employees, contract analysts, and agency staff while playing a lead role in identifying and developing intelligence and security programs to protect the most valuable assets of the NFL, to include critical business activities, physical infrastructure, human resources, intellectual property and business relationships.  
  • Oversee the continual monitoring of threats to the League’s events, personnel and assets by ensuring timely collection, analysis and dissemination of intelligence products to leadership, League constituents, and partners.
  • Maintain operational oversight and develop strategy, to include management of complex security operations processes, escalation protocols for security incidents, and business continuity plans while leveraging a combination of vendors, custom solutions, and internal resources. Develop and implement polices and standard operating procedures to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Oversee operations projects including budgeting, planning, implementation, maintenance, administration, staffing and logistics.  
  • Provide leadership to manage demands from projects and technology upgrades, including recommendations for vendor tools/solutions and global alignment of networks.
  • Work closely with other NFL departments to proactively ensure security operations capabilities are capable of handling emerging and future business requirements.
  • Develop and refine a suite of systems and technologies to improve capabilities and efficiencies and to address needs as they relate to threat intelligence, incident response, emergency preparedness and physical security across League assets globally.  

Required Qualifications: 

  • 7+ years of experience in corporate security with a focus on intelligence; intelligence analysis; or military, law enforcement or government intelligence. 
  • Related bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university. Advanced degree preferred (Masters/JD).
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with various social media platforms, risk intelligence, and open-source intelligence (OSINT) techniques and methods.
  • Proven track record as a strong communicator in written and oral presentations, including to executive leadership. Must be skilled at rapidly creating accurate and concise written reports.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills. 
  • Expertise in the intelligence cycle and experience integrating intelligence into security operations. 
  • Must be proficient in leveraging new and evolving technologies. 
  • Expertise in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with sometimes unusual hours. 

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Related advanced degree preferred (Masters/JD).
  • Preference will be given to those with 7+ years of experience in private sector intelligence and security operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. 
  • Experience in business continuity planning and crisis management.

Physical Demands: 

Role may require long periods of standing, climbing stairs and walking in connection with occasional NFL game and stadium operations 

Travel: 

This role will require occasional travel (less than 10%).  

Terms /Expected Hours of Work: 

This is a salary position. NFL employees are required to work 40 hours per week. This role requires weekend work during the season and during NFL events. Evening and weekend “on-call” coverage will also be required on a rotating basis. This role is not remote and must be fulfilled in-office. The location for this position will be the Mount Laurel, New Jersey office. 

Salary / Pay Range

The NFL expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials, or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would the NFL consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.  

Salary $165,000—$210,000 USD
