The Information Technology division in the Department of Accounts (DOA) is seeking a qualified individual for an Information Security Analyst position.
DOA’s mission is to provide a uniform system of accounting, financial reporting, and internal control adequate to protect and account for the Commonwealth’s financial resources, while supporting and enhancing the recognition of Virginia as the best managed state in the union.
Job Duties
Serves as the agency’s Information Security Analyst in the oversight and compliance of information and technology security as per the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Security Policies, Standards, and Guidelines.
Creates and maintains agency’s security policies and procedures Develops and implements on-going risk management program. Conducts business impact analysis, risk assessments, audits, and participates in annual Continuity Plan and Disaster Recovery processes, simulations, and test. Develops, oversees and validates the agency’s security audit program. Educates and informs agency on information security. Implements an agency-wide security awareness program. Monitors and manages vulnerability detection and remediation of agency systems and applications.
Minimum Qualifications
Extensive knowledge of server, networking, security concepts, security penetration testing tools, security disciplines to include hacker techniques and countermeasures, exploits, intrusion detection, perimeter protection.
Extensive skills developing security and risk management policies and documentation, incident handling processes, and delivering a security awareness program.
Skills using security monitoring tools, security baselining tools, and Microsoft Office.
Ability to communicate information security-related concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff.
Additional Considerations
Relevant coursework or professional experience in cybersecurity, network security, information assurance, or a related field.
CompTIA Security+ Certification (preferred)
CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+) Certification (preferred)
