Position Overview:The Investments & Capital Markets (I&CM) division at Freddie Mac provides liquidity to the U.S. mortgage markets and makes funding more available by purchasing mortgage-related securities guaranteed by Freddie Mac and other financial institutions by issuing corporate debt. The I&CM Technology Risk team broadly supports the division on all technology risk management matters.
This position will perform technology risk and governance activities under the I&CM Technology Risk team’s director, working closely with technology teams, other divisional and enterprise risk teams, audit, compliance, and business partners to assess and identify technology risks; coordinate events and issues; perform risk assessments and control testing; design and implement controls; propose process improvements; and report on technology governance, risk, and compliance activities.

Our Impact:Risk & Governance is a first line of defense role within I&CM. We act as trusted advisors to our stakeholders and proactively support them in identifying and managing risks that may impede our division from meeting its business objectives.
Your Impact:As a Risk and Governance Senior, you will assist the team in managing technology risks to improve our risk management process and strengthen our control environment. This role provides opportunities to broaden your technical and risk acumen while being part of an inclusive team striving to deliver the following:
Collaborate with partners to assess technology risks, appropriate responses, and associated governance changes.
Document controls that mitigate SOX, non-SOX, technology, and operational activity risk.
Prepare, conduct, and document quarterly Risk Control Self-Assessments (RCSA).
Conduct pre-audit readiness control testing.
Support technology teams during 2LOD, Internal Audit and FHFA oversight activities
Assist in identifying issues and investigating operational risk events, assessing severity and root causes, and coordinating timely completion of remediation activities.
Update and validate accuracy of risk repository data
Assist with periodic reporting, third party due diligence, and divisional gap assessments.
Develop procedures, process flows, and job aides, as required.
Assist in program maturity and process improvement opportunities.
Minimum of 5 years of risk management, assurance, and/or compliance experience within technology-related environments. (This position is not focused on business operations, finance, or cybersecurity risk management.)
Preferred background in financial services.
Degree in risk management, accounting or a technology-related field; or equivalent work experience.
CISA, CISM, CRISC or other related professional certification desired (or working towards a certification).
Proactive with the ability to think holistically and creatively.
Effective verbal and written communication across all levels of the organization.
Multi-tasker, self-starter, agile, and great teammate.
Passion for continuous learning, especially around capital markets and emerging technologies.

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $105,000 - $157,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program.
