Join us as a Systems Administrator (Mid) to support and maintain IT environments for a Federal Law Enforcement Agency. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and ensure the seamless operation of mission-critical systems. This position is on site in Huntsville, AL and requires a Top-Secret clearance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, servers, and workstations to meet organizational requirements.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure optimal functionality.
- Perform system upgrades, patch management, and security configurations to maintain compliance with standards.
- Manage backups, recovery operations, and disaster recovery strategies to safeguard data and ensure business continuity.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive system documentation, including configurations and procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support projects, migrations, and infrastructure enhancements.
- Provide advanced technical support to resolve escalated issues and mentor junior team members.
- Conduct regular system audits to ensure compliance with cybersecurity and operational standards.
Required Skills / Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience recommended. In the absence of years of experience, certifications or past work may be used to show the level of experience needed to perform at this level.
- Experience in AWS, Microsoft, Windows Server, Citrix, NetApp, Dell Unity, Dell Avamar, Hyper-V, Microsoft SQL Server, Azure DevOps, Ivanti, Microsoft Service Manager, Atlassian, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager, WSUS, and BigFix.
- Strong knowledge of system architecture, virtualization technologies, and system optimization techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a focus on delivering high-quality technical support.
- Active Top-Secret Clearance
Desired Skills / Experience:
- Certifications -AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, CISSP, CISM, CASP+, or similar certifications that demonstrate expertise in system administration, cloud solutions, and cybersecurity.
- Experience in scientific or forensic applications is preferred, including familiarity with specialized software and hardware solutions used in laboratory or investigative environments.
- Strong understanding of hybrid cloud environments and their integration with on-premises infrastructure.
- Knowledge of IT modernization initiatives, including migrating legacy systems to cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
- Experience implementing IT service management tools and frameworks, such as ITIL, to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash) to streamline administrative tasks and processes.
- Familiarity with data protection strategies, compliance requirements, and security best practices for high-security environments.
- Advanced knowledge of system monitoring, performance tuning, and capacity planning to ensure optimal resource utilization.

The proposed salary for this position is:$114,700—$191,100 USD
