Job Description

The Senior IT Auditor will assess high-risk areas within the BCBSNC information technology environment to ensure the implementation of an adequate control framework. Key responsibilities encompass the entire audit process, including risk assessment, planning, process walkthroughs, fieldwork, issue resolution, reporting, and follow-up on corrective action plans.

  • Develop a working knowledge and understanding of the organization. Actively develop relationships and collaborative partnerships within IT and other assurance teams.

  • Lead, plan, execute, and document risk-based audits of information technology at BCBSNC, including applications, databases, operating systems, physical security, telecommunications, disaster recovery, vendor management, and cloud computing.

  • Propose viable recommendations and solutions to identified audit issues and process improvements.

  • Communicate effectively and proactively, with business contacts in all phases of audit execution, including final results and recommendations.

  • Assess compliance with BCBSNC policies, standards, and procedures.

  • Provide advisory on projects related to information technology controls.

Hiring Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required)

  • 5+ years of experience in related field

  • In lieu of degree, 7+ years of experience in related field

  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or

  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of IT audit methodologies, risk assessment, and control frameworks (e,g, COBIT, NIST, ISO27001)

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with data analytics tools and techniques

  • Familiarity with technologies such as cloud computing and AI

  • Project management experience and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Strong presentation and report writing skills.

Salary Range

$75,900.00 - $136,600.00
