Overview

Mastercard is seeking a skilled Intelligence Analyst to join our Intelligence and Threat Analysis team. This role will focus on gathering, analyzing, and reporting on cybercrime and physical threats targeting Mastercard. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience in intelligence analysis and will act as a liaison between internal Corporate Security teams, Mastercard technology teams, and external partners.

Key responsibilities include tracking Advanced Persistent Threat (APT) actors, leveraging Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) techniques, and identifying threats to Mastercard’s infrastructure. The analyst will also support mitigation efforts, explore opportunities for automation, and contribute to continuous process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intelligence gathering, analysis, and reporting on cyber and physical threats to Mastercard.
• Monitor and analyze Advanced Persistent Threat (APT) actors, their Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs), and their impact on financial institutions.
• Utilize Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) techniques to enhance intelligence reports for senior management and key business partners.
• Identify, assess, and report on threats targeting Mastercard’s infrastructure and assist with mitigation efforts.
• Develop automated solutions to improve intelligence operations and address operational gaps.
• Recommend and implement business and process improvements to enhance efficiency and intelligence effectiveness.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to strengthen Mastercard’s security posture.

All About You

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Digital Forensics, Cybersecurity, Telecommunications, or Information Assurance.
• 2-3 years of experience as an intelligence analyst with a strong foundation in critical thinking and the intelligence cycle.
• Broad understanding of networking and enterprise IT systems.
• Strong knowledge of APIs, scripting languages, and regular expressions.
• Experience developing and maintaining intelligence platforms or automation tools.
• Knowledge of key threats to the financial sector, including payment system vulnerabilities and business service risks.
• Familiarity with intelligence source rating methodologies.
• Experience in cyber threat scenario development for exercises and simulations.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
• Experience working in a global team or within a Follow-the-Sun operational model.
• Active participation in security and intelligence community associations is a plus.
