Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor in Cyber Security, UNSW Canberra

Employment type:   Full-time (35 hours per week)
Duration: Continuing
Remuneration: Level C from $150,148/Level D from $179,630 plus 17% super

Location: UNSW Canberra, City Campus

Why Your Role Matters
This key position at  Canberra School of Professional Studies will increase the school’s capacity to deliver high-quality teaching, higher degree research supervision, conduct high impact research, and engage with relevant industries and professional bodies. The position will be expected to contribute to the school’s teaching, research and administration through course development and delivery, research outputs, quality assurance, industry engagement, student support, and assist in other administrative duties related to the school’s and faculty objectives. As a senior academic in Cyber Security, you will bring a wealth of relevant scholarly and/or industry expertise. Specifically, we are looking for cyber academics with expertise in areas such as Penetration Testing, Digital Forensics and integration, Network Security, Cryptography, Web Security, DevSecOps, Privacy, Critical Infrastructure and/or Data/Application Security.

 

Who You Are (skills and experience): 

  • A PhD in a related discipline, plus relevant work experience.
  • A good track record of research and publication leadership in a chosen field.
  • Evidence of currency and knowledge in the field of cybersecurity.
  • Demonstrated evidence of teaching and learning design, development, delivery and students support at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, with positive teaching evaluation.
  • Experience using and designing with educational technologies and flexible delivery platforms.
  • Evidence of highly developed interpersonal communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to, and evidence of working with and supporting students and colleagues from diverse backgrounds and abilities.
  • Demonstrated experience working with industries and applying work-integrated learning (desirable).

Eligibility: 
The successful candidate will be required to undertake pre-employment checks prior to commencement in this role. The checks that will be undertaken are listed in the Position Description. You will not be required to provide any further documentation or information regarding the checks until directly requested by UNSW.  

To be successful you will hold Australian Working Rights and be available to start teaching in Term 3 (September 2025) or before. UNSW is unable to offer visa sponsorship for this position.
