This role:
Simtra is seeking highly motivated undergraduate students for our Summer Internship Program. We look for diverse students with inquisitive minds and the desire to challenge themselves. Our interns work closely with industry professionals and learn quickly how to problem solve on real-world projects that contribute to clinical research and manufacturing processes. In addition to on-the-job experience, we offer learning sessions with top leadership, site visits to local projects and social events.
The Corporate Security & Cybersecurity teams focus on protecting company facilities, people, sensitive data, and critical infrastructures. These teams deal with the physical security, information security, risk management, and regulatory compliance in a highly regulated environment.
The Corporate Security and Cybersecurity intern will work on projects related to threat assessments, cyber risk management, incident response, and security audits.
The intern will assist the EHSS (Enviornmental, Health, Safety, and Security) teams with physical security assessments of the pharmaceutical manufacturing, packaging, and staging facilities, including access control and surveillance. They will support the planning of safety and security, including insider and external threats and assist in the development and review of security policies, emergency response plans, and crisis management procedures.
The intern will also have a dual-team responsibility with cybersecurity projects developing threat hunting techniques & reporting and implement & map the OT (operational technology) control framework.
Required qualifications:
- Pursuing a BS degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Security, Criminal Justice, or a related field
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Understand network security, threat intelligence, encryption, and authentication protocols
- Strong attention to detail including the ability to accomplish a task while demonstrating a thorough concern for all the areas involved
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others in a proactive, positive and constructive manner
- Interest in physical security, access control systems, and corporate security risk management
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
