As a Security Analyst, you will assist the Army Network Operation Centre (ANOC) within the cyber security function.
This organization within the Canadian Army is responsible for operating and maintaining the LC4ISR (Land Command, Control, Communication, Computers) Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance systems required for the effective conduct of Army operations.
This Centre is an integral part of the Army’s Command and Control capabilities.
Tasks will include, but not limited it:
- Service Desk: capture, record, analyze, resolve incidents (technical or security) and service requests raised by LC4ISR end-user via specified Information Technology Service Management tool. In the case of solution conflict, provide ANOC leadership with Subject Matter Expert (SME) advice to assist in option analysis and decision making.
- System and Network Administration: analyze, manage, and update both system, network, and permission configuration to maintain availability and performance of LC4ISR.
- Network Monitoring: utilize tools available on LC4ISR to log and monitor the health and performance of the network. Based on mid to long-term analytics on log, provide recommendations to enhance the overall performance of the network.
- Routine Network Maintenance: review, analyze, execute, and record network maintenance tasks on both server hardware, virtual environment, software, and authorized end-user devices. This includes firmware updates, performance and security patching and server hardware upgrades.
- Support Escalation: if required, request technical support on unresolved incidents, service requests, maintenance tasks to DLCSPM via the Network Engineering Support Services contacts.
- Technical Document Management and Knowledge Transfer. in collaboration with DLCSPM, manage and update technical documentation. Distribute documentation to tactical units and provide technical guidance and assistance as required in support of remote network management.
- Collaborate and Coordinate: attend meetings as requested by the ANOC leadership; and
- Other: perform any other work related to supporting the ANOC functions.
Qualifications
- Must have proof of College Diploma in Computer Technology or a Bachelor of Science, or in a technical field required to support Land C4ISR. (Command, Control, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance)
- Experience (ideally at least 5 years’ experience) in the preparation of technical concept documents, system specifications, and technical proposals in the field of IT/IM or Engineering.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a minimum of 3 of the following assessment criteria:
- Communicating information technology frameworks/strategies to management and technical staff.
- Communicating system engineering direction for projects or systems.
- Providing advice, guidance and recommendations on technical issues to support the decision-making of senior management.
- Leading multi-disciplinary teams in the development of IT tactical systems, frameworks or strategies.
- Performing strategic , operational or tactical planning for projects or systems to meet corporate strategy.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience within the last 8 years in security engineering in a minimum of 4 of the following assessment criteria:
- Conducting the Security Assessment and Authorization process.
- Developing normal use-cases and mis-use use-cases for evaluation of system integrity.
- Conducting system scams and capturing new data for analysis.
- Identifying and analyzing technical threats and vulnerabilities on target system.
- Analyzing security data and reporting all relevant information.

- Conducting penetration testing on target system.
- Conducting documentation reviews and system evaluations for security compliance.
- Evaluating events and alerts from Security Info and Event Management (SIEM) systems.
Additional Information
- Initial contract period: April 2025 – March 2026 (to start, with possibility of extension)
- Must hold a valid Secret level 2 clearance
- Controlled Goods Cert requirement. ADGA will initiate for Full time employees, and Consultants will be required to already be registered with Controlled Goods)
