Description
The Network Security Analyst will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining LCCU's network infrastructure. Responsible for ensuring the efficient and secure operation of the network, supporting the needs of various departments, and contributing to the overall technology strategy of LCCU. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate potential risks, respond to incidents, and implement best practices to enhance the overall network security posture of LCCU.
Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and manage network and network security infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, wireless APs, and other related technologies such as IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
- Perform network architect tasks related to planning, design, additions, and upgrades, including LAN, WAN, VoIP, Internet, Wireless, and data networks.
- Develop and enforce network security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations, such as the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) and data privacy laws.
- Assess the network's current and future capacity needs. Conduct capacity planning exercises to ensure the network can handle increasing demands and growth. Recommend and implement appropriate scaling and optimization measures.
- Create and maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and operational procedures. Ensure that the documentation is accessible to relevant stakeholders.
- Develop innovative and implement complex network solutions, ensuring that upgrades and changes comply with established guidelines and best security practices.
- Further develop and execute network solutions incorporating redundancy and high availability.
- Assist with research and implementation of enterprise system-wide networks.
- Work closely with other IT teams, business departments, and external vendors to support business initiatives and projects. Collaborate with appropriate stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of applications with the network infrastructure.
- Utilize network monitoring tools to identify and resolve network performance issues proactively. Optimize network performance through traffic analysis, bandwidth management, and quality of service (QoS) configurations.
- Stay abreast of the latest network security trends, vulnerabilities, and technologies, and provide recommendations for enhancing the Credit Union's security posture.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university; with minimum 2 years’ experience with network and system administration in a complex environment.
- 8-10 Years of Information Technology experience working in a mid-size to enterprise environment. Financial Industry is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Network Engineer, preferably in the financial industry or a regulated environment.
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols and technologies, including LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, and wireless networks.
- Experience with network security principles and technologies, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and access control.
- Deep understanding of WAN, LAN, and telecom protocols.
- Experience with Fortinet network and security equipment, fabric, switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Experience with network monitoring tools for capacity planning, troubleshooting, and threat detection and evaluation.
- Experience with Microsoft Active Directory, Azure, and Office 365 in a multisite, multilanguage environment.
- Solid understanding of network design principles, scalability, and redundancy.
- Team player who can manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to travel to other locations throughout the state as needed.
- Excellent communication skills with internal team and external vendors.
- Ability to manage time with strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
- Proven ability to solve problems creatively and proactively.
- Ability to learn quickly and work efficiently.
