Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Endpoint Security Management Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The ideal candidate will support the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). This individual is will have expertise in Trellix (formerly McAfee) endpoint security solutions to support and enhance our enterprise endpoint protection strategy. The ideal candidate will be responsible for deploying, configuring, and maintaining Trellix/McAfee security products, ensuring compliance with security policies, and proactively mitigating endpoint threats. This role requires strong technical skills in endpoint security, threat prevention, automation, and compliance enforcement.

 

Day to Day Responsibilities:

 

  • Trellix/McAfee Endpoint Security Management: Deploy, configure, and maintain Trellix/McAfee ePO, ENS, DLP, and other security modules across enterprise endpoints.
  • Policy Enforcement & Compliance: Develop and enforce endpoint security policies to comply with industry standards (ISO 27001, NIST, CIS, HIPAA, GDPR, etc.).
  • Threat Monitoring & Incident Response: Monitor endpoint security alerts, analyze threats, and coordinate remediation efforts with the Security Operations Center (SOC).
  • Automation & Optimization: Use PowerShell, Python, or other scripting tools to automate endpoint security tasks and improve efficiency.
  • Patch & Vulnerability Management: Ensure endpoint security solutions are up-to-date with the latest signatures, patches, and configurations.
  • Reporting & Auditing: Generate security reports, analyze trends, and provide recommendations for improving endpoint protection.
  • Endpoint Hardening: Implement best practices for securing Windows, macOS, and Linux endpoints, including application control, device control, and encryption policies.
  • Collaboration & Support: Work with IT and security teams to enhance endpoint protection strategies and provide technical guidance on security improvements.
  • Documentation & Training: Maintain detailed documentation of security configurations, procedures, and provide training to internal teams as needed.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelors degree and 0 years of experience or a High School diploma and 4 years of experience.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a public trust clearance.

  • Experience in endpoint security management, cybersecurity, or IT security operations.
  • Expertise in Trellix/McAfee security products (ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO), Endpoint Security (ENS), DLP, Application Control, and other modules).
  • Strong knowledge of endpoint security frameworks, malware detection, and threat mitigation.
  • Hands-on experience with Windows, macOS, and Linux endpoint security administration.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
  • Understanding of SIEM integration and working knowledge of SOC processes.
  • Experience with vulnerability management tools (Qualys, Nessus, etc.).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Certifications:

 

  • Trellix/McAfee Certified Product Specialist (ePO, ENS, or related).
  • CompTIA Security+ or CISSP (for cybersecurity knowledge).
  • Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) (preferred for advanced threat analysis).
  • ITIL Foundation Certification (for IT service management), must obtain within 30 days of job acceptance.

Target Salary Range

$39,000 - $62,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
