About the role
As a Security Architect, you will play a crucial role in shaping the security landscape of Officeworks’ IT projects. Reporting to the Governance and Architecture Manager, you will:
- Influence project teams to ensure security governance processes are followed.
- Identify security control gaps and risks, providing expert guidance on mitigation.
- Provide technical and architectural oversight for project solutions.
- Conduct security risk assessments, review vendor security capabilities, and contribute to security tooling and documentation.
- Ensure seamless project delivery, engaging with security vendors and supporting proof-of-concept initiatives.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across Officeworks, Wesfarmers, and external partners to drive security excellence.
This role is a hybrid role based in our Chadstone Support Office in Victoria. The team works 2-3 days a week onsite.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in IT Security or a related field.
- Relevant industry certifications (CISSP, CISM, or equivalent preferred).
- 5+ years’ experience in IT Security across multiple domains.
- Proven experience working on multiple IT security projects, both large and small.
- Strong knowledge of IT Security standards, PCI-DSS, and Australian Privacy Principles.
- Expertise in public and private cloud security, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), and security architecture.
- The ability to assess risks, design secure solutions, and influence key stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills, translating complex technical security concepts into clear business language.
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a customer-first approach.
Technical Experience
- Security technologies related to eCommerce and online services.
- AWS and Azure security architecture and services.
- Network and infrastructure security (firewalls, proxies, email gateways, etc.).
- Endpoint security (malware protection, data leakage prevention, user behaviour analysis tools).
