Sigma Defense is seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused IT Systems Administrator/Technician to join our team at Sigma Defense. As a Information Technology Admin/Tech III, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and enhancement of our information technology infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess a solid technical background, extensive experience with VMware, switches, routers, rack-and-stack, user management, security, patching, and more. While technical proficiency is of utmost importance, we strongly emphasize the value of excellent customer service in this role.

Requirements

  • 5-8 years of relevant experience.
  • Must be a citizen of the United States.
  • Must be highly organized with a strong attention to detail.
  • Must be able to multitask and prioritize work effectively.
  • A great customer service presence with the ability to effectivity communicate is required.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.

Essential Job Duties (not all-inclusive):

  • Infrastructure Management: Oversee the design, configuration, deployment, and ongoing support of our VMware virtualization environment. Manage switches, routers, and networking devices to maintain a stable and secure network infrastructure. Handle rack-and-stack operations for new equipment installations.
  • User Management: Administer user accounts, permissions, and access rights across various systems and applications. Respond to user inquiries, troubleshoot issues, and provide timely and effective solutions to ensure a seamless user experience.
  • Security and Patching: Implement and enforce security measures to safeguard the organization's data, systems, and networks. Regularly perform system updates, security patches, and vulnerability assessments to mitigate potential risks.
  • Technical Support: Act as a point of escalation for Level 1 and Level 2 support personnel, assisting in complex technical issues and incident resolution. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members to promote knowledge sharing and skill development.
  • System Monitoring and Maintenance: Monitor system performance, proactively identify potential bottlenecks or failures, and take corrective actions as needed. Conduct routine maintenance tasks to optimize system performance and ensure high availability.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, network topology, and troubleshooting procedures. Generate regular reports on system performance, incident trends, and service level agreements.
  • Project Participation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to contribute to IT projects, such as system upgrades, infrastructure expansions, and technology migrations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices. Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within the IT infrastructure.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related field of study.
  • 5-8 years of experience of related work experience if no degree is held.

Computer Programs/Software Requirements:

  • Azure AD
  • PowerShell
  • DNS
  • Networking

Personnel Clearance Level:

  • Candidate must possess or have the ability to obtain an active Secret security clearance or higher.
  • Clearance will be sponsored for the right candidate.

Candidate Differentiators:

  • VCP, Sec+, Net+, and or CISSP certifications.
  • Close proximity to the San Diego, CA facility.

Salary Range: $80,000 - $120,000 annually.
