We’re looking for a seasoned back-end developer with the software engineering skills it takes to identify potential risks, contribute to solution development, and create efficient and effective systems for our clients. 

As a lead back-end developer at Booz Allen, you’ll oversee a team as they use the latest architectural approaches and open-source frameworks and tools to deliver solutions. Using your software engineering expertise, you’ll lead the development team to create custom tools, systems, and sites with consistent performance and scalability.

You Have: 

• 7+ years of experience implementing, maintaining, and supporting agile software development to modernize systems 
• Experience in security domains, including cryptography, network security, and zero trust architecture
• Experience with functional programming languages and software design in a functional paradigm
• Experience in algorithms, formal methods, or academic or professional research
• Experience in relational databases, such as PostgreSQL, and complex SQL queries
• Experience with Linux, shell scripting, Git, and containerization technologies
• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance 
• Bachelor's degree 

Nice If You Have:  

• Experience in zero trust architectures
• Experience with Clojure and ICAM
• Experience with post-quantum cryptography
• Experience with Python and DevOps practices
• Experience with modeling complex systems using graph theory or category theory
• Experience in security architecture and threat modeling
• Knowledge of PLT/compiler design
• Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Possession of excellent presentation and collaboration skills
• Master’s degree

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $110,100.00 to $250,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
