Booz Allen Hamilton
Using tomorrow’s technologies, Booz Allen advances the nation’s most critical civil, defense, and national security missions. The Opportunity:
Cyber threats are everywhere, and the constantly evolving nature of these threats can make understanding them seem overwhelming to government agencies. In all of this “cyber noise,” how can these organizations understand their risks and how to mitigate them? The answer is an information security risk specialist like you who will break down complex threats into manageable plans of action.
As an information security risk specialist on our team, you’ll use your experience to work with military and government leaders to discover their cyber risks, understand policies, and develop a mitigation plan. You’ll review technical, environmental, and personnel details from SMEs to assess the entire threat landscape. Then, you’ll guide your client through a plan of action with presentations, whitepapers, and milestones. You’ll support the cybersecurity risk assessment team in conducting assessments of cybersecurity risk by evaluating IT systems. You’ll assist with drafting cybersecurity risk reports to highlight current architecture, mitigations, and cybersecurity risk posture, analyze, review, and critique assessment and authorization (A&A) documentation in compliance with Intelligence Community (IC) and DoD cybersecurity policy and agency guidance, including ICD, DoD, CNSS, and NIST special publications, and assess program security compliance, support program briefs, and coordinate and compile program security documentation for various programs.
You’ll provide A&A and cybersecurity support, including Risk Management Framework (RMF) for DoD IT, assess compliance with security technical implementation guides (STIGs), review automated scans, conduct security test and evaluation (ST&E), vulnerability assessments, and computer security responses, and create and manage RMF packages. Additionally, you’ll provide results of unresolved discrepancies to the client for addition in that system's Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M), interact with clients to perform policy and technical audits, brief client leadership on vulnerabilities in support of the government client, and prepare brief slides and summary of findings analysis.
You’ll work with your client to translate security concepts, so they can make the best decisions to secure their intellectual property, critical infrastructure, and mission-critical systems. This is your opportunity to act as an information security subject matter expert while broadening your skills in cybersecurity.
Work with us as we protect our nation’s cyber infrastructure.
