Job Description

• Being responsible for the entire lifecycle management of Ericsson's NVFI solution hosting virtual ePC
• Optimise the solution for efficient operations, i.e. defining enhancements, develop, test, implement
• Operating the solution, i.e. monitor, troubleshoot, patch, and coordinate the implementation of defined tasks within affected technical teams and the vendor
• Incident Management, i.e. identify the issue, implement measures to mitigate customer impact, recover system stability, responsible to solve the issue. This also requires willingness for call-on-duty services.
• Problem Management, i.e. requesting vendor support in accordancy to defined SLA and support process, provide statistics for the defined KPIs, review SLA KPI reports
• Change Management, i.e. plan and prepare, test, request approval and implement changes to the system. This requires willingness to work in maintenance windows during nightshifts, depending on the severity of the change
• Define and plan deliveries for major release upgrades in terms of required content, deliverables, responsible owners (RACI) and required time and efforts
• Apply and improve testing, monitoring, and troubleshooting procedures to maintain high performance, reliability, and compliance of integrated network functions. Deliver and maintain documentation for best-practices, method of procedures (MoP), etc. for system operations
• Deliver, review and agree required acceptance test-cases for functional and non-functional use cases. Define, execute and coordinate execution of acceptance testing
• collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize end-to-end connectivity, address network challenges, and continuously improve integration processes for VNF deployments
• provide support for complex projects across development, quality assurance, and project planning, as well as assist with the implementation of new mobile core software releases
• Develop strategies to leverage from automated monitoring and change methods, incl. VNF deployments with VNF-M
• Define and establish disaster recovery plans to ensure system resilience and quick recovery from backups
• collaborate closely with the operations team to streamline processes, enhance software and system performance and apply innovative technologies and concepts
• Define solutions to apply Security implementation and monitor reports and implement required patches
• Responsible for Hardware repair&return process, coordinate HW exchange changes with local technical staff and plan, execute required VM migrations

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge in operating and monitoring compute hardware and Linux LCM (Ubuntu and Suse)
  • Skilled in implementing monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) to ensure network health and optimize the performance and reliability of packet core applications and infrastructure
  • Knowledge in troubleshooting of IPv4/IPv6 networks and protocols such as TCP, UDP, BGP, BFD and tracing tools (e.g. wireshark)
  • Experience with troubleshooting in L2 switching networks ideally with Arista and Juniper Junos knowledge 
  • Familiar with ETSI-MANO architecture, VNF-M procedures, Openstack and Kubernetes 
  • Basic understanding of packet core network components, interfaces, and protocols, with experience on-boarding of VNF 
  • Experience in documenting multifaceted technical requirements for colleagues 
  • Experience in classic and agile forms of cooperation
