Are you passionate about protecting high-profile individuals, organizations, and the public from online threats and targeted violence? Do you have experience in threat intelligence, behavioral threat assessment and management, protective security or a related field and a desire to lead a dynamic, high-impact team?

We are looking for an experienced Threat Intelligence leader to drive our U.S. Online Threat Monitoring program and oversee research into targeted violence. This role is an opportunity to work at the cutting edge of threat detection, helping to safeguard some of the world’s most well-known athletes, public officials, and corporate leaders.

You will manage a team of analysts responsible for real-time threat monitoring, client engagement, and industry outreach, ensuring our insights remain actionable and relevant. Additionally, you will lead research into targeted violence, guiding best practices and advancing methodologies to enhance our impact. Your work will directly support security professionals across public and private sectors, including law enforcement, sports, entertainment, and corporate security.

Moonshot’s offices are based in Washington, DC. We offer flexible work options including hybrid and remote candidates from across the US will be considered but residency in an area of geographical focus is preferred. Travel to meet clients across the U.S. will be required. 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Own Customer Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met and they receive exceptional service.
  • Develop Leads and Network: Identify new business opportunities and expand our professional network within government, law enforcement, corporate security, and the entertainment industry.
  • Oversee a Medium-Sized Project Team: Lead, mentor, and manage a team, ensuring efficient project execution and high-quality deliverables.
  • Ensure Rigour in Methods: Uphold and refine analytical methodologies to maintain accuracy, consistency, and reliability in threat monitoring.
  • Review Products to a High Standard: Ensure all intelligence reports and deliverables meet the highest quality standards, particularly in written analysis.
  • Own a Budget and Provide Reporting: Manage financial resources effectively and provide clear, data-driven reports to senior leadership.
  • Deliver Presentations: Communicate insights and findings effectively through compelling presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Drive Thought Leadership: Identify creative opportunities to enhance our profile, contribute to industry discussions, and position the company as a leader in threat monitoring.
  • Engage with Diverse Clients: Work seamlessly with both public sector (government, law enforcement, intelligence) and private sector stakeholders.
  • Manage Multiple Projects Simultaneously: Balance competing priorities while ensuring high-quality, timely delivery across multiple engagements.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Proven experience in a senior management role within intelligence, protective security, threat monitoring, behavioral threat assessment and management, or a related field.
  • Strong track record of managing client relationships and driving business growth.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead project teams and oversee multiple workstreams.
  • Expertise in analytical methodologies, intelligence reporting or threat assessment.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and quality assurance skills for intelligence products.
  • Experience managing budgets and providing strategic financial insights.
  • Confident public speaker with experience delivering high-impact presentations.
  • Creative problem-solver with a proactive approach to business development.
  • Comfortable working with high-profile clients in both public and private sectors.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Willingness to be on-call and work outside regular working hours in response to incidents and relevant events. 
  • In addition, we require and will check on candidates' eligibility to work in the US. Candidates will be expected to undertake and pass any relevant security clearance procedures per the needs of clients.

Desirable:

  • An existing network within the U.S. national security, sports or entertainment sector.
  • Professional experience using online threat monitoring software or services either as a supplier or customer. 
  • ATAP Certified Threat Manager or similar certification.
  • Subject matter expertise in one of the following areas: terrorism, serious and organized crime, targeted violence, OSINT research.

Salary: $110,000 - $145,000 depending on skills and experience.
