About the Role

The mission of ANZ’s Secure Internet Services Squad is to safeguard the bank by securing network services and managing Secure Web Gateway, ensuring that the platforms we manage are continuously enhanced to meet current needs, and protecting ANZ from cyber threats through comprehensive protection, detection, and response capabilities.

We are looking for a DevOps-oriented Security Engineer to join our squad and take ownership of Secure Web Gateway (SWG) solutions that protect our organization's network from web-based threats.
This role is not just about security—it's about automation, efficiency, and scalability. You'll leverage CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and cloud-native technologies to optimize and secure web access.

Your mission? Integrate security into DevOps workflows, automate security controls, and streamline deployments to improve the Secure Web Gateway solution of the organization, all while ensuring compliance with security standards.

What will your day look like?

As a DevOps Engineer, you are also responsible for the following but not limited to:

• Maintain, implement, and manage Secure Web Gateway solutions to enhance network security.
• Automate and implement security policies and configurations using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines for secure software deployment and infrastructure updates.
• Monitor and analyze security logs and alerts, leveraging cloud-native and DevOps tools.
• Develop and maintain scripts to automate security tasks, reduce manual efforts, and improve response times.
• Collaborate with DevOps and Security teams to integrate security into cloud-native environments (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Implement and enforce security best practices for web access, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
• Troubleshoot access and performance issues, working closely with stakeholders across development and operations.
• Maintain clear documentation in Jira/Confluence to track configurations, policies, and incidents.
• Stay ahead of the curve, continuously learning about the latest DevOps or security trends, threats, and tools.

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

• A degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Strong experience in DevOps and security engineering, preferably with  focus on automation and cloud security.
• Experience managing Secure Web Gateway or Internet Security solutions (Zscaler preferred).
• Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines and DevOps toolchains (Git, CodeFresh, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with cloud security and compliance frameworks (AWS/GCP/Azure security best practices)
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (Terraform, Ansible) to automate security policies.
• Understanding of network security, including firewalls, routing, and secure web access.
• Experience in monitoring and logging solutions (Splunk, ELK, SIEM).
• A problem-solving mindset and the ability to work in a fast-paced, security-driven DevOps environment.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with DevOps, security, and development teams.
