Department Overview

The Information Technology (IT) department is responsible for all technology development and operations across the company.

IT Infrastructure and Development 

The IT department installs, upgrades, maintains, tests and supports all the company’s IT infrastructure and services. The IT Department also designs, develops, tests and supports all internal and customer facing applications and services

Interface with Business Users 

IT interacts across the business to determine the technology requirements to align with the needs of the business and its clients. A clear understanding of how business users build, access, share and use data helps them to design and implement solutions that can enable the business to operate effectively, efficiently and innovatively. 

Evaluating New Technologies 

IT will evaluate current and potential vendor products and services, and build models to explore the risks and benefits of introducing new technologies, applications, equipment and other vendor offerings into the workplace. 

Job Overview

Oversee the strategic direction, development, and operational efficiency of the company’s infrastructure and governance frameworks. 

This role combines technical leadership with strategic oversight, focusing on managing IT systems, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining a robust governance structure.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

Infrastructure Management:

Deep understanding of IT infrastructure, including networking, servers, data centres, cloud services, and trading platforms, particularly in the financial sector. 

System Integration: Experience with integrating complex systems, platforms, and services across various departments and third parties. 

Cybersecurity: Knowledge of security frameworks, risk management practices, and secure infrastructure design to protect against cyber threats. 

Automation & Optimization: Familiarity with automation tools, performance monitoring, and optimization of IT systems to enhance operational efficiency. 

Software & Tools: Knowledge of trading platforms, high-performance computing, and tools used within FX trading environments. 

Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) 

• Expertise in regulatory compliance specific to the financial sector, particularly around MiFID II, GDPR, and other relevant financial regulations. 

• Strong background in implementing governance frameworks for risk management, IT operations, business continuity, and auditing. 

• Knowledge of control frameworks such as COBIT, ITIL, or ISO 27001 to ensure governance standards are met. 

• Experience in setting up internal and external audit processes, managing risk assessments, and ensuring operational resilience. 

• Ability to ensure compliance with both local and international regulations and standards impacting infrastructure and technology operations in FX markets. 

Technical Expertise 

• Infrastructure Management: Deep understanding of IT infrastructure, including networking, servers, data centers, cloud services, and trading platforms, particularly in the financial sector.

Data Management & Reporting 

• Experience with managing large data sets, data integrity, and reporting. 

• Ability to implement systems for monitoring performance and security metrics to report to senior leadership, boards, and regulators. 

Vendor & Third-Party Management 

• Strong background in managing relationships with third-party vendors and service providers. 

• Ability to negotiate contracts, monitor SLAs, and ensure that vendors meet performance standards.
