Every day, we rise to the challenge to make a difference and here’s how the Intern, Product Security role will make an impact: The Intern, Product Security will support the Product Security team in safeguarding the integrity of our pharmaceutical products and related digital systems. This internship provides exposure to key aspects of product security, including vulnerability assessments, threat modeling, and compliance monitoring.

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Assist in conducting security assessments of pharmaceutical products, including software and hardware components.

  • Support the team in identifying and mitigating vulnerabilities in the supply chain, manufacturing, and distribution processes.

  • Perform research on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies relevant to the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., R&D, IT, Quality Assurance) to address security gaps and enhance product security controls.

  • Help develop and implement security documentation, such as security guidelines, best practices, and policies.

  • Support incident response activities related to product security, including root cause analysis and remediation tracking.

  • Participate in threat modeling exercises to identify potential risks and recommend mitigations.

  • Work on compliance initiatives to ensure alignment with industry standards and regulations (e.g., ISO 27001, FDA guidance, GDPR).

The minimum qualifications for this role are:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Security, Criminal Justice, Criminology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.

  • Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, including vulnerability management, risk assessment, and cryptography.

  • Familiarity with regulatory standards such as FDA guidelines, ISO standards, or similar frameworks is a plus.

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

  • Proficient in using security tools and software (e.g., vulnerability scanners, SIEM).

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Eagerness to learn and contribute in a fast-paced environment.

 The salary range for this position is:  if pursuing Bachelor's degree = $20/hour, if pursuing Master's degree = $25/hour, if pursuing Doctorate degree = $30/hour.
