The Consumer Digital Protection (CDP) team focuses on protecting TELUS customers from malware, phishing, and vulnerabilities. We also help ensure that TELUS is compliant with Canadian Digital Copyright law and facilitate CDP's capacity to support other teams within TELUS that require IP-to-customer attribution.

 

As a Security Consultant, you will support the Consumer Digital Protection team in fulfilling our goal of maintaining the systems we use daily. You will integrate new data systems into the CDP team's infrastructure, ensuring that it is up-to-date and able to fulfill its mandates on a daily basis. This is also an opportunity for you to flex your strategic outlook skills by anticipating new technologies that may influence your team and its ongoing mandate.
 

What you'll do

 

 

  • Maintain regular touchpoints with data owners to ensure access and accuracy 
  • Analyze workflows to ensure TELUS complies with digital copyright regulatory obligations within Canada 
  • Engage and support front-line CDP team members to ensure their tools are updated and maintained
  • Assist Senior Engineers on the CDP to implement and maintain the SOAR platform 
  • Support and develop incident and automation tools used by front-line analysts (SOAR) 
  • Collaborate with the internal innovations team to provide support within our business unit as needed


What you bring

 

  • Strong understanding of IP technology
  • Knowledge of malware and phishing
  • Experience in Internet Service Provider field
  • Python programming experience at an intermediate level
  • Strong knowledge of design analytics, algorithms, and measuring tools
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A creative thinker with good analytical abilities
  • Proficient in problem-solving
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science or a relevant field

 

Great-to-haves

 

  • Verbal and written proficiency in French
