Government Affairs & Regulatory Manager – Export Compliance & UAV Certification (m/w/d) all levels

Your mission

• Ensure compliance with export control regulations (ITAR, EAR, EU Dual-Use, BAFA, Wassenaar Agreement)
• Manage certifications and regulatory approvals (FAA, EASA, CE, MIL-STD, FCC) for UAV systems
• Develop and maintain relationships with government agencies, defense organizations, and regulators
• Oversee licensing, permits, and legal documentation for UAV exports and defense contracts
• Monitor changing regulatory landscapes and adapt company policies accordingly
• Collaborate with engineering and legal teams to integrate compliance into product development
• Conduct internal audits and risk assessments for regulatory adherence

Your profile

• 3+ years experience in government affairs, regulatory compliance, or export control
• Strong knowledge of ITAR, EAR, EU Dual-Use, BAFA, and other defense trade regulations
• Experience with FAA/EASA drone regulations and aerospace certification processes
• Familiarity with defense contracting, procurement policies, and military standards (MIL-STD, NATO STANAGs)
• Ability to manage stakeholder relationships with government agencies and regulatory bodies
• Understanding of supply chain compliance and restricted component management

• Experience in defense, aerospace, or UAV regulatory affairs
• Background in risk assessment for international trade and sanctions compliance
• Knowledge of cybersecurity compliance standards for defense systems (NIST 800-171, CMMC)
