Overview

Staffing Pros, a division of VETS Inc., is recruiting for a full-time IT Security Event Management Analyst Augusta, GA.  This person will work onsite 4 days a week spanning Sunday through Saturday, from 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with 3 days off.

Responsibilities

The Event Management Analyst is a key member of the Event Management Center (EMC), responsible for 24/7 monitoring and managing of clients' environments for security events and IT incidents. This role assesses threats, analyzes business impacts, and advises on containment and remediation actions. The Analyst ensures effective event management throughout the lifecycle to minimize client impact and support costs.

 

  • Manage event monitoring and incident response ticket queues, ensuring compliance with service level agreements.
  • Analyze and interpret system, security, and application logs to diagnose faults, identify threats, and conduct root cause analysis.
  • Follow Incident Response procedures to investigate, escalate, contain, and eradicate malicious activities.
  • Utilize security tools to investigate alerts, build accurate timelines, and maintain SIEM and EDR solutions.
  • Research emerging threats and implement detection solutions to mitigate risks.
  • Communicate indicators of compromise and remediation steps clearly to clients and IT service providers.

Qualifications

  • One of the following certifications: CompTIA Security+, CompTIA CySA+, CCNA Security, CompTIA CASP+, or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of experience in cybersecurity, Information systems or a related field is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, information systems, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience with SIEM platforms, firewall management, and endpoint detection and response platforms.
