ROLE SUMMARY

The Technology and Cyber Risk Reporting team are responsible for risk reporting across LSEG Engineering. We are looking for a meticulous and highly analytical Risk Data Analyst who will be responsible for gathering, processing and analysing risk-related data to assess risk exposure and support informed decision-making to help the organisation manage Technology and Cyber risks within appetite.

In this role, you will examine data to identify patterns and create visual data representations to provide valuable insights on risks. This role will work closely with collaborators across engineering divisions to understand requirements, profile and map data, and develop quality technical solutions.

You will need to be motivated to pursue technical challenges and use your analytical skills, and proactive in researching and applying new technologies for data analysis. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in data analysis tools. You will work within the Technology & Cyber Risk & Controls team within Cyber Security and report to the Director, Risk Governance & Reporting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Data Collection & Management: Capture, clean and prioritise risk-related data from different sources including the operational data lake to ensure accuracy and integrity of all data used for risk analysis.
  • Risk Assessment & Analysis: Analyse large datasets to identify, assess, and quantify potential risks. Use statistical techniques and modelling tools to help anticipate future risk exposures.
  • Reporting & Visualisation: Build clear and comprehensive reports, dashboards and visualisations that communicate key risk metrics and trends to stakeholders and for reporting to risk committees across the organisation.
  • Teamwork: Work with multi-functional teams to use available datasets, processes, and tools to identify exposures and contribute to the development of risk mitigation strategies.
  • Monitoring & Alerts: Set up systems to monitor key risk indicators (KRIs) in real-time and develop automated alerts for potential risk events.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that risk data and reporting meet regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies.
  • Data Quality & Accuracy: Ensure data is accurate and timely by performing regular quality checks and cleaning processes, working with support teams to resolve issues.
  • Tool development: Build and maintain data models, dashboards and automated reporting systems for analysis and development of insights.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with industry standard methodologies in risk management, data analysis and emerging risks. Recommend and implement improvements to risk data management processes.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Degree or equivalent experience in IT, Computer Science, Data Science, Technical Business Analysis or Risk Management.
KEY SKILLS
  • Proficiency in SQL and data querying to extract and analyse risk-related data.
  • Experience with data visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI) to present risk data clearly for analysis, insights, and storytelling.
  • Proficiency in Excel (sophisticated functions such as pivot tables, macros, and data analysis tools).
  • Intermediate understanding of ETL, data lake and data warehousing domains.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with proficiency in data analysis techniques and methods and ability to identify trends, patterns and insights in complex data sets.
  • Good understanding of risk management principles, including risk identification, assessment and mitigation strategies.
  • Familiarity with work management tools (Asana, JIRA) (preferred).
  • Previous experience in risk analysis or data analysis with a focus on risk management (preferred).
  • Knowledge of risk assessment tools and techniques (preferred).
  • Able to communicate effectively. Engage both technical and non-technical team members with clear and compelling communication.
