This role is hybrid on-site (3) days a week in Northbrook, IL

As a Regional Security Manager for UL Solutions, you will gain insight and understanding of the business, advise business leaders on threats, risks, and solutions, and develop and implement strategies to enhance UL Solutions’ business performance. You will work with other regional security managers and the head of physical security programs in a collaborative, open, and supportive team environment.

 

 

  • Establish and maintain relationships with business leaders, law enforcement, and government officials to ensure collaboration and aid in creating a security awareness culture within UL Solutions.
  • Conduct physical security assessments, evaluate site security programs, identify gaps, and work with business leaders to mitigate risks as appropriate.
  • Coordinate with business leaders, engineers, and integrators to assist in the development and successful implementation of physical security projects (Access Control, Video Surveillance Systems, and Intrusion Detection Systems).
  • Conducts and coordinates incident investigations pulling in other impacted groups or business units as appropriate.
  • Participate in Emergency Response teams and deployments as appropriate.
  • Support key business initiatives by developing and disseminating threat-related intelligence.
  • Moderate business travel as needed to support the program and respond to incidents in your area of responsibility.
  • Leads workplace violence programs and initiatives in their region.
  • Performs other duties as directed.

  • Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent in Criminal Justice, Security, Emergency Management, or Law.
  • Professional Certification in Physical Security (APP, CPP, CSP, CTM) preferred. 
  • Eight years' experience in law enforcement, military, or corporate security.
  • Knowledge of technical/electronic security systems to include (access control, video surveillance systems, and intrusion detection systems). 
  • Ability to review and understand floor plans and blueprints.
  • Ability to identify necessary locations to implement security controls in a facility to mitigate risks. 
  • Must be certified in First Aid, CPR, and AED.
  • Ability to exercise sound independent judgment and an appropriate sense of urgency, as well as flexibility.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Experience providing security advice or travel security briefings preferred.
  • Experience with special event planning preferred. 
  • Ability to travel up to 15%

Physical Demands:

  • This position requires periodic travel to other UL Solutions sites as assigned and performing in-person audits/inspections/investigations in a wide variety of laboratory and office environments. 
  • Frequent use of computers and office equipment is required. 
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position, assisted or unassisted, for up to 2-hour periods several times a day is required. 
  • Ability to move about different facilities, assisted or unassisted, for up to 2-hour periods several times a day is required. 
  • Ability assisted or unassisted, to move safely over uneven terrain; ascend/descend stairs/ladders/scaffolding required. 
  • Ability to lift up to 30lbs assisted or unassisted. 
  • Ability to push, pull, bend, reach and stoop assisted or unassisted. 
  • Ability to work in tight spaces, and work in hot/cold environments will occasionally be required in lab, office, and outside environments. 
  • Ability to recognize emergency situations and respond quickly. 

 

Total Rewards: We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. The estimated salary range for this position is $126,000 to  $135,000 and is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, as well as other factors. This position is eligible for annual bonus compensation with a target payout of 20% of the base salary. This position also provides health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental and financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country. We also provide full-time employees with paid time off including vacation (15 days), holiday including floating holidays (12 days) and sick time off (72 hours).
