Job Opportunity: OT cybersecurity Lead

Reports to: Head of Information & Data Security

Are you an experienced OT cybersecurity professional looking to lead critical initiatives in a dynamic environment? We are seeking a OT cybersecurity Lead to spearhead our Operational Technology (OT) cybersecurity strategy. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with IT and refinery operational teams, ensuring seamless integration and robust protection against cyber threats.

About the Role

As the OT cybersecurity Lead, you will:

  • Drive cybersecurity Initiatives: Plan, implement, and manage OT security measures, ensuring comprehensive monitoring and rapid incident response.

  • Manage Threats and Vulnerabilities: Identify, assess, and mitigate cyber risks across our refinery’s OT layer.

  • Ensure Compliance: Oversee compliance with NIS regulations and manage policy reviews and audit responses.

  • Deliver Projects: Lead technical delivery of new security systems and collaborate with IT teams to embed security into every aspect of operations.

  • Promote Awareness: Champion cybersecurity awareness initiatives across operational teams to foster a culture of security.

  • Leadership and Strategy Execution: Provide strategic insights on OT cybersecurity risks, manage third-party suppliers, and represent our company in collaboration with UK Government entities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead 24x7 OT cybersecurity monitoring and incident response.

  • Manage cybersecurity service providers to ensure proactive threat detection.

  • Oversee vulnerability assessments and implement mitigation strategies.

  • Support and execute approved cybersecurity strategies to reduce incident impact.

  • Collaborate with the Head of Information & Data Security to enhance compliance and risk management.

  • Deliver cybersecurity awareness campaigns across operational staff.

What We Are Looking For

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Automation/Production Control or significant experience in Industrial Control Systems (ICS).

  • CISSP certification or equivalent essential.

  • Project Management and Leadership certifications (desirable).

 

Experience:

  • Significant experience in ICS environments and cybersecurity within manufacturing.

  • Proven ability to manage both IT and OT functions and incident response.

  • Hands-on experience with ICS systems (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider, Honeywell).

  • Managing technical teams and third-party service providers.

  • Delivering cybersecurity awareness training and managing incidents.

 

Skills & Attributes:

  • Strong problem-solving mindset with a hands-on approach.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.

  • Risk-focused and pragmatic approach to technical issues.

  • High attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality.
