We are looking for a Malware Specialist to join us at our Reading Office

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Malware Analyst to join our cybersecurity team. The successful candidate will be responsible for analysing and mitigating malware threats, conducting investigations using forensics methods, and developing strategies to protect our organisation's digital assets. This role requires a deep understanding of malware behaviour, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with other cybersecurity professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse and reverse-engineer malware samples to understand their behaviour, functionality, and impact.
  • Develop and implement strategies to detect, prevent, and respond to malware threats.
  • Collaborate with other cybersecurity team members to enhance overall security posture.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest malware trends, techniques, and threat intelligence.
  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation of malware analysis findings and recommendations.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to other teams on malware-related issues.

We tend to look for people with:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field/or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrable experience in malware analysis, reverse engineering, and digital forensics techniques.
  • Solid understanding of malware behaviour, attack vectors, and mitigation techniques.
  • Proficiency in using malware analysis tools and techniques.
  • Experience with scripting and programming languages such as Python, C/C++, or Assembly.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Relevant certifications such as GIAC Reverse Engineering Malware (GREM) or Certified Malware Analyst (CMA)

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of network security and intrusion detection systems.
  • Familiarity with threat intelligence platforms and frameworks.
  • Understanding of operating systems, file systems, and network protocols.
