As a global company with an organisation spanning multiple countries, and customers in the financial sector, compliance is essential to all the work we do in SimCorp. SimCorp is currently undergoing a process to further mature our compliance set-up, which brings more complex tasks across topics such as AML, sanctions, data privacy and market abuse.
To ramp up our data protection team, we are now looking for a privacy professional in Poland, who is ready to join our growing Group Compliance and assist SimCorp in becoming even better at data protection.
As our new Compliance Counsel on the data protection topic, you will be working out of our office in Warsaw, and as part of our global Group Compliance team. The Compliance team focuses on developing and maintaining a robust framework for regulatory compliance and ensuring the organization stays compliant with applicable laws and regulations. The team is responsible for providing 2nd Line Compliance support, training and awareness and advice on a broad range of compliance topics.
What you will be responsible for:
As our new Compliance Counsel, you will work closely together with our Group Data Protection Officer to support and monitor the implementation of our data protection framework across SimCorp. In your role, you will work closely together with the 1st LoD, cross-functional teams, to support and advise them on data protection topics. Further, you will take on the role of local data protection coordinator in Poland, assisting in navigating the local privacy requirements and contact with local supervisory authorities.
As the compliance team collaborates closely across different topics, this role also offers a great opportunity to familiarize yourself with other compliance areas and how they overlap with data protection, including AI and IT Compliance etc.
- Supporting the 1st LoD teams in creating RoPA entries, risk assessments and other required documentation such as DPIAs, TIAs and LIAs
- Collaborate closely together with Vendor Management and Information Security to oversee data processors and perform data protection audits
- Supporting the rest of Data Protection in maintaining policies and procedures, and ensuring consistent application of those across the organisation through controls and 2nd LoD audits
- Provide advice to colleagues from all departments and levels of the organisation on data protection
- Facilitate trainings and build learning material in areas such as data protection and IT Compliance
- Support the Compliance team with third party inquiries, when necessary, ex. due diligence questionnaires, RFP’s and RFI’s.

- Have a degree in law, commercial law or similar relevant education
- Have at least 3 years of experience with data protection and privacy
- Have good analytical skills with attention to details
- Exhibit proficient English communication skills in both oral and written forms
- Have a good understanding of data protection issues and risks, and are able to balance the need for sound business advice with the need for maintaining a high standard of advice
Previous knowledge from tech or financial companies would be advantageous, but not a requirement.
To thrive in this position, it is important to have effective interpersonal skills and a good sense of humor.
