UNSW Cyber Security partners with the faculties, research and divisions to support the delivery and management of secure solutions that empower and enable excellence throughout the University. We are focussed on improving and delivering services that meet the needs of the many different types of customers that we serve daily, such as our students, staff, researchers, alumni and guests.

- 4 x Cyber Security Support Officers, Cyber.
- Kensington, Sydney and with flexible and or Hybrid working available.
We are looking for 4 x Cyber Security Support Officers to support the maintenance and operational delivery of Cyber Security Services within a fit-for-purpose and adaptive Cyber Security Risk Management framework, to maintain an effective and compliant cyber security posture within the University. The role is responsible for supporting cyber security operations and governance teams in delivering innovation and continuous improvement by identifying more efficient business processes and assisting in their delivery.
The Cyber Security Support Officer reports to the Deputy CISO and has no direct reports.
Accountabilities/Key Responsibilities:
Assist with the requirements gathering and documentation of cyber security operational improvement use cases.
- Assist with the automation of governance processes.
- Contribute to the Cyber Security team culture of innovation and continuous improvement by assisting the Head of Cyber Security Strategy & Governance to identify and implement process improvements.
- Assist with the documentation of procedures and workflows to ensure a consistent high level of service is delivered by the Cyber Security team.
- Other duties appropriate and in line with to this position as requested by the Head of Cyber Security Strategy & Governance.
- Cooperate with all health and safety policies and procedures of the university and take all reasonable care to ensure that your actions or omissions do not impact on the health and safety of yourself or others.

Skills and experience
A person engaged is generally expected to have the following skills and experience:
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices, including computer networking concepts and protocols, and network security methodologies.
- Theoretical knowledge of industry-wide security standards and compliance frameworks such as ISO/IEC 27001, NIST CSF etc.
- Skills and project experience in AWS cloud services (highly desirable).
- Skills and project experience in developing Power BI automation and reports (highly desirable).
- Skills and project experience in automation technologies (highly desirable).
- Project experience using relational and NoSQL databases (desirable).
- Skills and project experience in data reconciliation (desirable).
- Ability to develop software in one or more programming languages.
- Skills in trend analysis, statistical analysis, data visualisation techniques and reporting.
- Demonstrated experience in the delivery of operational and administrative support services and ability to provide innovative solutions to problems. Previous experience in cyber security project delivery would be highly valued.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with an evidenced ability to work cooperatively and constructively with staff from a variety of settings across the university.
- Ability to make sound judgements and work both independently and as part of a team.
- Proven ability to interact effectively and develop relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives, and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
- Demonstrated high level of personal motivation, resilience, and ability to work effectively individually or in teams.
- Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
