The team:

The Hitachi Digital Internal Audit Department performs assurance services for the Audit Committee as well as process improvement consulting engagements for Management. In addition, Internal Audit manages J-SOX audit activities collaborating closely with the External Auditor and the parent company in Japan. The team is spread over various locations in AMER, EMEA and APAC. You will have the opportunity to work with experienced and dedicated audit professionals who are experts in various fields and hold multiple certifications such as CIA, CISA, CFE, CISSP, CRMA, CPA, CA and more.

 

The role:

This role reports to the Senior Manager of Internal Audit in the US and will perform and support diverse types of audits and consulting engagements, including but not limited to system implementation reviews, J-SOX activities, process and operational reviews. In particular, the Semi-Senior IT Auditor will:

  • Cultivate a sound understanding of the IT landscape of the organization and component entities, including governance and operations of IT applications and infrastructure.
  • Exhibit technical IT knowledge and perform IT audits of moderate to high complexity, such as system implementation reviews, cloud security, AI usage, IT asset management and product security.
  • Possess the ability to ably perform audit data analytics and enhance the adoption of data-driven audit approaches.
  • Cultivate a thorough understanding of organizational objectives, structures, policies, processes, internal controls, and external regulations.
  • Prepare high quality work papers and other deliverables timely and professionally to document testing adequately and clearly, support conclusions, and communicate findings to the audit in-charge.
  • Exercise critical thinking and judgment when evaluating the impact of audit observations on the business.
  • Influence process owners and stakeholders to improve operations and enhance controls. Validate the completion and closure of agreed remediation and management actions as needed.
  • Be comfortable working on multiple priorities/projects for on-time delivery, proactively providing status of all activities to Internal Audit management and relevant business stakeholders.

 

What you’ll bring:

  • Ability to convey a professional image and deal confidently with business problems while building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and effectively with limited support, have experience to lead IT projects and have good time management and organizational skills. Experience of shared service centre environments is desirable
  • You are an “out-of-the box” thinker with good analytical skills and the ability to adapt quickly to changing work environments, priorities, and deadlines
  • Recent 2-3 years of experience in internal audit, internal control or accounting firm consulting/advisory is required (Big 4 background is desirable)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • An IT Audit or Security certification e.g., CISA, CISSP, CCSK, CompTIA Security+ etc. preferred
  • The candidate should have good knowledge of J-SOX or SOX requirements, IT internal audit, and accounting practices. The candidate should be able to work collaboratively across various departments, regions, and cultures.
