Information Technology Intern - Cybersecurity

This position assists in the yearly Risk Assessment and Review audit

Essential Functions

• Work with the consulting company:
• Conduct security assessments and policy reviews to include working along with them in performing cybersecurity assessments, questionnaires, policy reviews, penetration tests, and testing documentation
• Review with Grunt Style and the consulting company the final cyber risk analysis reports and assist in devising the proper prioritization of the follow up tasks

Competencies

• Strong understanding of information security principles, best practices, and industry standards 
• Experience with the NIST security risk assessment methodologies and frameworks 
• Knowledge of vulnerability scanning tools and penetration testing techniques 
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and evaluate potential risks 
• Good communication and presentation skills to effectively convey complex security risks to non-technical audiences

Requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

Education: College degree or currently pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity.

Experience: Previous experience with security assessments can be considered as an alternative.

Core Competencies:

Strong understanding of information security principles, best practices, and industry standards.

Experience with NIST security risk assessment methodologies and frameworks.

Knowledge of vulnerability scanning tools and penetration testing techniques.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and evaluate potential risks.

Good communication and presentation skills to effectively convey complex security risks to non-technical audiences?.
