Purpose:
The primary purpose of this position is to reduce the risk of loss and company liability by protecting the employees and assets of the company. This is accomplished through ensuring compliance with all government and company standards regarding a safe, secure workplace. This role will provide analysis of current risk, then advise and support improvements regarding security concepts and workplace violence to all sites globally. In addition, they will become a subject expert in physical security concepts, technologies, practices, and risk management to assist each facility in lowering the risk to employees and protecting company assets.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance and provide guidance to all facilities regarding security regulations (state and local laws, OHSA) and drive Timken specific strategies and standards. This includes audits of both internal and external regulations. Analyze facilities compliance to standards and provide advice to management on improvement targets.
- Subject matter expert in development, strategy, and execution of the company Workplace Violence Prevention (WVP) program. This will include assisting in training employees on workplace violence prevention, conducting assessments on incoming threats, advisement on actions to mitigate threats, and researching best practices to improve the program.
- Assist with oversight to the company global travel security program. Monitor risk to travelers and work with Timken third party vendors when situations arise to support Timken travelers.
- Analyze and identify new and improved opportunities with technologies / non-compliance remediation regarding security protection processes and procedures. Present recommendations to the facility or security management and assist in implementation as needed. Keep up to date on emerging trends and best practices and provide expertise to our internal community.
- Manage company risk and liability by ensuring the enforcement of company rules and policies. Provide training or guidance to outsourced security staff as needed regarding these rules and policies. This requires the employee in this position to complete all required security training (weapons, low level force, first aid, etc.) and to be put in harm’s way during any security/fire related event. This includes items like issuing badges, controlling access, patrolling property, etc. at WHQ and local facilities.
- Provide analysis and guidance on emergency response procedures (medical, security, fire) to US plants. Assist them in designing emergency response plans as needed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum: Associate’s Degree in Criminology, Technology, Security or related field with 4+ years of related
- Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Criminology, Technology, Security or related field with 2+ years of related
- Ability to analyze across all facets of global security responsibilities
- Knowledge of security concepts and principles
- Strong communication and organization skills
- Experience in de-escalation of high stress situations
- Ability to investigate and assess indicators for violent behavior risks.
- Knowledge of physical security technologies (access control, security cameras, etc.)
- First / Aid, emergency medical certifications
- Computer / Technology proficiency – MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.), other
