Job Summary
KBR seeks a graduate engineering student with a specialization in Radio Frequency (RF) source localization to work in the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL). Additional experience with exploitation of both direct signal propagation and multipath signal propagation is desired. Candidate should be comfortable working with RF theory and phenomenology as well as laboratory test and measurement equipment. Key Responsibilities:
- Literature Research: Conduct literature research related to radio frequency (RF) localization to include multipath phenomenology both with and without direct line of site (LoS) between the emitter and receiver.
- Formulate novel approaches/hypotheses: Formulate novel approaches and hypotheses to localize RF emitters in complex multipath environments.
- Experiment Design: Design experimental procedures to test RF localization hypotheses in simulation and physical environments.
- Execute experiments: Execute physical RF experimentation at AFRL (or other appropriately equipped facilities) and collect the associated data.
- Analyze data: Analyze the experimental data regarding the proposed hypotheses.
- Refine hypotheses: Refine hypotheses according to analyses.
- Generate/publish articles: Generate and publish scholarly articles e.g., conference papers or journal articles.
Work Environment:
- Location: On-site at AFRL on Wright-Patterson AFB, OH
- Travel Requirements: Minimal 0-20%
- Working Hours: Standard
Qualifications:
Required:
- Experience: Specialization in Radio Frequency (RF) source localization
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field required
- Security Clearance: Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance
