Information Systems Security Officer

Key Role:

Designs, implements, and manages policies and procedures to ensure database and software security. Applies advanced skills, extensive technical expertise, and full industry knowledge. Develops innovative solutions to complex problems. Works without considerable direction. Mentors and may supervise team members.

Basic Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience working in a professional environment

• 3+ years of experience providing security guidance and IS validation utilizing the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) RMF, IC, and local security policies

• Experience interfacing with information assurance managers to prepare and review documentation, including Systems Security Plans (SSPs), Risk Assessment Reports, Certification and Accreditation (C&A) packages, and Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&M)

• Ability to manage cybersecurity activities that need to be performed by system owners, including annual refresher CS training and awareness briefings, or require a personal interface, including incident response or data transfers

• TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph

• Bachelor’s degree

Additional Qualifications:

• Experience with Information Systems security gained from higher education, trade certifications, including MS or CISCO, or a combination in the information technology or information security field

• Experience using the NIST Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) tool, or Depart of Defense STIG Viewer application

• CEH, CFR, CCNA Cyber Ops, CCNA-Security, CHFI, CySA+, GCFA, GCIH, SCYBER, PenTest+, CISA, GSNA, PenTest, CISM, CISSP-ISSMP, or CCISO Certification

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
