DESCRIPTION:
Network Engineer is a senior position requiring extensive experience managing Classified enterprise networks.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan, design, and maintain connectivity of enterprise network assets to ensure compliance and secure operations on Classified networks (SIPR, NIPR, JWICS)
- Collaborate with stakeholders to address connectivity requirements and implement necessary configurations to facilitate efficient and secure data transmission
- Ensure all network switches and routers are operational, properly configured, and compliant with DISA STIG requirements
- Perform regular maintenance, updates, and troubleshooting of network switches to ensure optimal performance
- Configure, maintain, and monitor firewall, intrusion protection, intrusion detection systems, and Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) for network access control and authentication in accordance with ATO requirements, cybersecurity policies, and standards
- Implement necessary security measures to protect specialized systems and networks from unauthorized access and cyber threats
- Support planning and implementation of enterprise service connections between networks, systems, and applications across domains
- Facilitate connections for auditing, authentication, secure cloud computing architecture (SCCA), and Cross Domain Solutions and Guards, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards
- Collaborate with ISSOs and the Cyber Services Lead IV in the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process
- Provide input and documentation using designated templates and tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, InfoPath, Visio, etc.) to support the security assessment and authorization of TAC systems
- Work across multiple teams, collaborating effectively to resolve issues, alerts and tickets, closing tickets once an incident has been confirmed resolved.
- Mentor/train other NOC staff in methods and processes for effective resolution, tuning and system optimization, alert definitions and appropriate actions, and other routine NOC activities
- Work with other team members/teams to determine root cause and develop reports for stakeholder consumption
- Mentor/train junior staff in methods and processes for effective resolution, tuning and system optimization, alert definitions and appropriate actions and other routine Engineering activities.
- Take directions from the Network Operations Team Lead
- Mentor and Direct subordinate Network Operations Team staff

Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- BA/BS in Computer Science/Information Technology or relevant discipline (HS and 4 years of additional experience or AS and 2 years of additional experience may be exchanged in lieu of BA/BS)
- 9 years total experience (Relevant Master’s Degree may be exchanged for 2 years’ experience credit or a relevant PhD may be exchanged for 4 years’ experience credit)
- 5 years of position-specific relevant experience
- Familiarity with ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems as well as the ITIL framework and service delivery concepts
- DoD 8570 Level II certification
- Ability to work independently and in an agile, collaborative team environment
- Active US Government Clearance at Secret level or higher
- Effective written and verbal communications skills for collaboration with both customers and fellow team members
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time and regularly lift at least 25 pounds
- Ability to commute to the designated onsite work location as required
DESIRED ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience supporting DoD programs
- Experience with cloud-based technologies
- ITIL certification
