Director of Information Technology

Description

We are looking for an experienced and strategic Director of Information Technology to lead our IT department. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing IT operations, developing and implementing technology strategies, and driving innovation to support business objectives. This role requires a deep understanding of current and emerging technologies, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. The Director of Information Technology will be responsible for overseeing the IT infrastructure, ensuring data security, managing budgets, and leading a team of IT professionals. The successful candidate will work closely with other members of leadership to align technology initiatives with the company's goals and objectives. This is a critical role that requires a forward-thinking individual who can anticipate future technology needs and trends, and who can develop and execute plans to meet those needs. This role requires a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and the ability to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a background in both IT and business, with the ability to bridge the gap between the two and drive technology initiatives that support business growth and efficiency.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and implement IT strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Oversee the management of IT infrastructure and operations.
• Drive innovation and identify opportunities for technology improvements by working closely with leadership, business units, and other identified key stakeholders.
• Ensure data security and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Manage IT budgets and optimize spending.
• Establish, monitor and analyze technology performance metrics.
• Ensure the availability and reliability of IT systems.
• Implement and manage IT governance frameworks.
• Develop and enforce IT policies and procedures.
• Ensure effective communication between IT and other departments.
• Manage IT risk and develop mitigation strategies.

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the IT department.
• Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts.
• Develop disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends.

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in a related field; a master's degree is preferred.
• Proven experience (10+ years) in technology leadership roles.
• Strong track record of developing and executing technology strategies that drive business growth and innovation.
• In-depth knowledge of current technology trends, including cloud computing, AI, data analytics, and cybersecurity.
• Exceptional leadership and team-building skills with a focus on talent development and retention.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Relevant industry certifications (e.g., PMP, CISSP) are a plus.
• Experience working in a high growth company requiring adaptability to technological changes, department strategy, and evolving industry standards highly desirable.

WORKING CONDITIONS

1. Ability and willingness to “get the job done”, allowing for flexible and extended hours, depending upon the project and/or business needs
2. Office environment (does own documentation and interacts directly with others in virtually all situations)
3. Travel: Specific to position ex) will be minimal (primarily attending conferences and trainings)
