Job Description

The Senior Manager, Enterprise Risk oversees the Enterprise Risk Management framework, policy, and strategy throughout the organization.

This role engages with senior and executive management across all lines of defense to foster a consistent risk management culture and ensure the achievement of effective risk mitigation practices. This role also serves as a change agent and partner to support responsible growth and innovation across the organization.

This role delivers meaningful input and analysis to ensure risks are understood, risk mitigation strategies/controls are developed, appropriate reporting mechanisms are in place, and risk culture and governance standards are understood and upheld.

This role manages and develops a team of professionals that implement the Enterprise Risk Management framework, provides independent challenge to LOB partners, and supports risk consolidated reporting.

How You'll Spend Your Time

  • You will oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of the enterprise risk framework and standards, including the Risk Appetite Statement.
  • You will act as a senior advocate and subject matter expert for ERM policies and procedures within the organization.
  • You will translate leadership risk strategy into executable processes.
  • You will plan, organize, and execute risk and control identification with senior leaders and staff, driving implementation efforts.
  • You will provide feedback and challenges on unmitigated or significant risks and control weaknesses.
  • You will create and maintain strategic relationships among the three lines of defense and participate in risk-related committees and initiatives.
  • You will develop recommendations for process and system changes to mitigate risk, improve performance, and ensure compliance with the risk management framework.

Education & Experience Requirements

This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a ­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­Bachelors Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, MIS, Business, or related field of study and ­­8+ years of directly related experience in ­­­­­­­­­­­­­ experience within the financial services industry focusing on Enterprise Risk, Operational Risk, Business Controls, Project Management, Change Management, Audit, Compliance, or management of business process or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Completed CERP, CRMA, Operational Risk Management Certification, CIA, or PMP

Preferred: Master’s or MBA, Certification relevant to assigned LOBs, such as CPA, CISA, CISSP, CISM, CRCM, CAMS, CFIRS, or other pertinent certifications.

  • Strong conceptual thinking and analytical skills with the ability to critically analyze complex problems, evaluate interrelationships and dependencies, and identify common themes and solutions.
  • Demonstrated skill at managing and developing risk assessment talent over a range of experience and expertise.
  • Exceptional ability to effectively communicate both verbal and written information in response to questions in-person as well as small group situations. Includes ability to present complex information/issues in a clear and concise manner. Also includes ability to represent BOKF in regulatory, peer, or other external environments.
  • Strong ability to develop and manage positive interpersonal relationships with LOB partners.
  • Strong ability to effectively plan time, method, manner and sequence of work assignments for self and team.
